Why the american voting system must change Why the american voting system must change

I'm sorry if this is a repost, but these are great videos on voting systems. They explain why our current system is ****, and what the best alternative is.

If you really want to change who has power in the usa, you first need to change the system that allowed the people to get the power in the first place.

Am I the only person who really hates that instead of people making points like these in articles they're now churning out videos?

I'm fine reading somebody's crackpot ideas, but I lack the attention span and tolerance to sit through somebody's narration and silly animal pictures.

People only understand pictures and sounds these days. You know, turtles and lions and stuff. Most college students can't write a legible paper.

I doubt that will be a problem

I hope this is what the video says:

All voters should have to take a very basic quiz to show their knowledge of where candidates stand on the issues, then their scores are the basis of how much weight their vote carries in the overall election. If you like a candidate because "he talks like me" and don't really know what they stand for, you get zero input in the final decision.

This. Jesus Haploid Christ, do we really need 11 minutes of youtube to explain runoff elections? Is that what this world has come to?

I dont think it really matters. Government does what it wants.

You might not be the only person. But you'd certainly stand out among my students.

This is pretty good, but IQ should also be factored in. Of course like others have said if lobbyist are running everything anyway it doesn't really matter.

Like bbv4l, politics needs a YouTube containment thread IMO for when people are too lazy to put any effort into their OP.
