Movies != Real Life

I'm sure you could come up with a real-life example if you tried. I just hating people using movies as an example of anything that happens in real-life because movies are always over-sensationalized and rarely reflect what really happens.

Well, I was addressing the point of 'he can't be racist because he targets his own race also' so I didn't go beyond what first popped into my head. I'm sure you won't fault me too much here.

This article is worth reading. It's the emails between Hawaii and the AZ Sec of State regarding Obama's birth certificate. They are straight up trolling him by demanding that he provide verification of his identity and authority before they can verify the birth certificate.

These statutes seem to deal with election of presidential electors, nomination of candidates for printing on official ballot of general or special election, form and contents of ballot, and presentation of presidential candidates on ballot, but none, as far as I can tell, establish the authority of the Secretary of State to maintain and update official lists of persons in the ordinary course of his activities. I researched other sections of the Arizona Revised Statutes and was unable to find the necessary authority.

I really hope Hawaii tells him to go do one and he tries to stop Obama from being on ballots in Arizona.

I would literally pay a million dollars to see him try this, fail, and then have Obama win Arizona. That would seriously be so awesome.

Re: Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the birth certificate

I really wonder what would happen if a known candidate was actually not a natural born citizen (and it wasn't obvious until after their run was well established). Say someone like Romney's parents really were Mexican citizens or something, but it came out now. Who would invalidate him from being on the ballot? How would the legal process even work?

If there was legitimate proof that a candidate wasn't a natural born citizen, then I'd imagine several states would prevent that candidate from being on the ballot. This would then lead to lawsuits which should probably be fast tracked to the supreme court.

Re: Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the birth certificate

Some of the early comments are gold.

Quote:
I already sent Mr. Bennett's office an e-mail questioning Mitt Romney's eligibility to be on the ballot for President. I asked Bennett to ask for Romney's birth certificate on the same basis as Obama. It is ironic that the official that determines who can be on the ballot is Mitt Romney's campaign chief. It is strange that an official of the Romney campaign is threatening to take Romney's opponent off the ballot. However, Bennett has gotten a request to produce Mitt Romney's eligibility to appear on the ballot. Bennett should fairly request the same data from every candidate. Mitt Romney is a special case since his father was born in Mexico and Mitt claims he was born in Detroit, less than a mile from Canada. It would be possible that Mitt was born in Canada but influence was used to establish birth a mile away in Detroit. I believe that Mitt was born in the USA, at least I hope so (to paraphrase Bennett), it would be nice if Bennett would put my doubts to rest.

A Romney birther movement would be perfect and due to Poe's Law there is no length you can go that wouldnt be believable.

Even with Romney being born in Canada, it wouldn't matter (but with Obama being born in Kenya, it would). But if his parents weren't American Citizens, being born in Canada of course could be a big deal. Seems like a better opportunity would have been McCain who wasn't even born in the US.

But then don't we get to demand that he prove that his parents were citizens? We would, of course, want all of the source documentation.

And since he's rich, we could demand that he prove he didn't bribe people to forge it.

ETA: I, personally, am not convinced that he isn't a robot. I'd like some proof that he's human.

As stupid as the Obama birther movement is, a Romney birther movement would be even stupider.
