this is about the only thing i like about little marco
01-11-2017 , 11:27 AM
all of this means nothing if he gives in and votes to confirm Tillerson anyway
01-11-2017 , 11:28 AM
Marco Rubio seems to be comitting the "if I'm going down, I'm taking everybody with me" form of political suicide by trying to make Tillerson call Putin a war criminal.

Got to respect him for that.
01-11-2017 , 11:31 AM
idk if RUBIO is the hero we deserve, but he is the one we need right now

Would be sick if he brings Tillerson down
01-11-2017 , 11:32 AM
Yeah I had no idea Rubio actually held a principle but there's no way of seeing this other than him sincerely disliking Russia, he's going real hard
01-11-2017 , 11:36 AM
Bravo to Rubio! After watching the Sessions pillow fight yesterday it is great to see some knives come out so quickly and pretty unexpected to see them coming from the right. Keep this **** up!
01-11-2017 , 11:38 AM
BTW if Tillerson loses Paul and Rubio he doesn't make it out of committee. If Little Marco scuttles a Trump nominee before the floor vote Trump is gonna bomb Miami
01-11-2017 , 11:45 AM
Guess Rubio hates the Russians because they helped Castro?
01-11-2017 , 11:47 AM
Wow Tillerson claims to not have spoken to Trump about Russia

hahahahaahahahahahahaha
01-11-2017 , 11:57 AM
lol marco has no spine he will talk big and vote to confirm

It looks like Rubio still holds a grudge against Trump for whatever abuse he got during the primaries. I don't even remember what name Trump gave to him but I'm sure he does.

Cedric Richmond bringing the heat.
01-11-2017 , 03:10 PM
Little Marco will fall in line.
01-11-2017 , 03:21 PM
Why does Cruz look like he's melting before our eyes?

Also, that long away goal of always trying to restore America in the world's eyes.

Tillerson straight up lied under oath when he said Exxonmobil did not lobby against sanctions.

He only lied under oath if Republicans in Congress say he did, so he didn't.

Perjury is just different for conservatives.
01-11-2017 , 03:49 PM
Tillerson absolutely refusing to criticize Duterte, despite Rubio going hard at him for it.
01-11-2017 , 03:52 PM
Re ~6200 people killed by vigilantes and police under Duterte

Tillerson: 'I'd need more info. I'm sure you have more info than I.'

Rubio: 'That was from the LA times.'

Tillerson: 'I'm certainly not going to believe everything I read in the news.'
01-11-2017 , 03:57 PM
Wow when faced with paperwork that shows ExxonMobil lobbied regarding Russian sanctions, Tillerson says you have to file the paperwork whether you are lobbying for or against something. Claims he doesn't know whether they were lobbying for or against sanctions.

My god this entire administration thinks everyone is stupid as ****, and they are right.

This wasn't hard for me to find on my own on Exxon's website:

http://corporate.exxonmobil.com/en/c...s-and-lobbying

1Q15 disclosure from their website: http://cdn.exxonmobil.com/~/media/gl...e-form-pdf.pdf

ctrl+f for "Russia"

seems super obvious Exxon lobbied about Russia
01-11-2017 , 04:14 PM
Going to give props to Marco, he was the only Trump endorsers who actively pushed back and refused to use the WikiLeaks stuff because of the Russian connection.
01-11-2017 , 04:29 PM
It sounds pretty likely Tillerson is not getting approved so I wonder who the backup is.

He concedes now that they lobbied regarding Russia, despite initially claiming he didn't know (until presented with the disclosure), but now he says he's not sure and that disclosure doesn't make clear whether ExxonMobil was lobbying for or against Russian sanctions. 'You have to file lobbying disclosure whether you are lobbying for or against something.'

The senator questioning basically laughed in his face when he made that argument. Yea I'm sure ExxonMobil was lobbying for Russian sanctions.
