AHAHAHAHAH HOL UP

Don't tell me that after 100s of posts only now have the exact '14 words' been spelled out because they apparently needed to be.

Not to re-litigate that again (actually it would be kinda hilarious to have this thread get derailed in that manner) but FoldN and chez were 2 of the people arguing AGAINST Zruce when he had his meltdown, arguments that actually led to said meltdown. And since they seem to get mad at me when I've brought it up as a defense!

Total banananas.
The real argument as always is not about politics. On politics Bruce & I couldn't have been in much more disagreement. As you say we aren't re-litigating the fiasco. There's a vaguely similar thing with TS where again we couldn't disagree much more.

On the other hand. Fly is someone I do more or less agree with on politics. I'm fairly sure he would also have enthusiastically have voted for JC's labour if he was from the UK

meh, that was his rhetoric shtick the entire time. obv everyone involved in the coversation either knew beforehand what the exact '14 words' and their context are, or googled it.

i think it's some serious whitesplaining hutzpah to tell the ADL what is and isn't 14 words related, but at least it's not didge.

Who is "his"? Fly?

I wasn't being rhetorical, I was literally asking. It would not surprise me in the least, like, totally not at all, if people were saying the 14 word thing had nothing to do with the trump speech without actually knowing what the words were.

Toothsayer makes BruceZ look like Harriet Tubman.

P.S. Toothsayer, like Bruce, loathed you. Your puppy dog adoration only goes one way there lol. Story of your ****ing life, though, amirite?

TSs political views played no part in it. Except that he is right wing.

Obvuoiusly ,there was no capping up or recruiting.

I mean, it's pretty obvious to me that Clovis was just going to be so obstinate with Fly that he wasn't going to post them whether he knew them or had to look them up. He just wanted to be obnoxious in an obnoxious conversation.

Ok let me stop grunching. Even if the sun don't shine I'm reading to the end of the line.

I like how both sides are willing to pretend that Palin actually tweeted that herself when the odds are close to zero.

It's not clear to me why that matters, especially after a period of time has elapsed. Is she not ultimately responsible for her own communication, whether executed by herself or a surrogate? Mistakes can be corrected.

I still can't believe this is a real discussion in a somewhat educated forum.

Like DVaut's first arugment was that 'awfully strange number to seize on":

All these are YoungCon articles -

Here is the old 15 words slogan:
"Chris Matthews only needs 15 words to prove he knows NOTHING ..."

the famous 13 words speeches:
"Rick Scott Brought the House DOWN When he Said These 13 Words ..."
"Bill Clinton Dropped 13 Words on a "President's Health" That has..."

the aforementioned 12 words hate speech:
"CNN Drops 12 Words on Hillary's Medical Records That ROCK ..."

We even got a black 14 one:
"Obama Gives Final Speech on Terrorism, Says 14 Words That Leave ..."

most of these articles are over a year old. in some the number doesn't appear at all in the article. no where. exactly like in this case.

did they srsly just build it all up for this moment?

**** palin, **** trump, defiantly **** youngcons but gtfo with this bullcrap cause like we should all agree, its not the ****ing point

If the original title of this article referenced "14 words", why do you suppose they changed it?

It's just their M.O., right? Totally innocent, right? So...why didn't they leave that title up?

it wasn't in the title afaik. where did you read that it was? It was in the metadata, same as their M.O for the "13 words that bill clinton said" article.

Here is another example for this exact speech, two days before:
"8 Words In Trump's Poland Speech Just TRIGGERED Liberals Around ..."

http://www.youngcons.com/updated-lib...warsaw-speech/

its in the description when you share or link it, but no where in the article does it say "8 words". is the "8" part of 88?

lolololol, i just realized you got it from FlyWF giving his figurative version of what could have happened. can you admit that's a pretty awesome fail?

I looked at some of those other YoungCon articles and each was clear, in the article text, what words were suggested by the headline.

for example "Chris Matthews only needs 15 words to prove he knows NOTHING about Islam" includes this image

"Obama Gives Final Speech on Terrorism, Says 14 Words That Leave America Speechless…" has "No foreign terrorist organization has successfully planned and executed an attack on our homeland" in bold text under a YouTube of Obama speaking.

iirc the article Palin linked did not contain any such clear indication of what "14 words" were meant, they added it after being criticized. A reader looking for the "14 words" suggested by the headline just saw praise for Trump giving a white nationalism speech.

There's an important difference here. Go open the Bill Clinton "13 words" article. What does the top of your browser window say?

Hmm, curious. Now go open the Trump 14 words article. What does that browser window say?

Whoops! Can you admit that it's a pretty awesome fail?

Dude, it says "Bill Clinton in 1996: “The Public Has a Right to Know the Condition of the President’s Health”"

and the link is: http://www.youngcons.com/bill-clinto...idents-health/

Our audience is not the young cons. It's those people who might be on the fence. Every time we give up the moral high ground it's a little bit harder to reach those people and a little easier for the right to say "see everyone lies and is wrong. There is no difference between the left and right."

You're on the fence.

You've mentioned how you have a company with 50 employees, that affords you enough income to donk it off at live poker. You're a boss exploiting your wage slaves. You're my mortal enemy.

Now, here's the thing: Do I really believe that, and if so, how much, or am I just trolling you? Because people do actually believe that, and I think you take a whole lot of Smart Guy Centrism for granted.

p.s.

Spoiler:
In practice, no, I don't actually believe that. My personal politics are pretty left but my big-tent philosophy overrides that. And I'm not the only one. All this was hashed out around the time of the election, when people complained about not being happy with HRC and just HAD TO protest vote or stay home, and we were like, realpolitik rule #1 homeboy.
