He would have technically won because the line isn't in his book but he has said it numerous times.

He isn't doing that though. "Plays" implies current tense. Show me where he is doing that in this campaign cycle. Or the last one.

Because they have very, very little predictive power of any actual substantive policy changes we could expect from an RP administration.

They have lots of predictive power of emotional flipouts from people who would rather talk about appearances.

In other words, there is no change from the earlier post...
Nate has RP at 28% for winning.

Barr confirmed butthurt over RP in 2008 endorsing Constitution Party over him.

Does Nate's model take into account the likelihood of Paul being able to out-caucus his polling results?

no. I'm pretty sure it's just statistics.

ron paul has to be the favorite to win Iowa at this point.. Newt's just starting his downward spiral

He has certainly courted christian religious conservatives and has certainly played up his (apparent) belief in the bible etc as a means to gain more voters...voters with many views typically far from "mainstream" libertarians.

Joe Rogan will be on Jay Leno this friday, along with Ron Paul. Nice of him to wear a RP shirt and endorse him on the show =)

Have a hard time seeing this not being brought up tonight.

If Gingrich flops in Iowa, Huntsman doesn't surge, and the race looks to be between Romney and Paul in New Hampshire, there are enough Republicans behind Gingrich and Independents behind Huntsman to push Paul to victory.
12-15-2011 , 01:19 PM
I feel like the racist newsletters are old hat and people already know about them and just dont care. Do you guys really think its going to blunt Paul's surge?
12-15-2011 , 01:22 PM
You really think the average Iowan, or American, knows about those newsletters? (They don't)

I think a good chunk of Iowans already behind Paul know about them, but yeh I would say the general electorate of Iowa doesnt. Still I feel like its not going to make a big difference.

I'm not sure about this. Yes, they came up before but voters are ******ed and probably don't remember or they didn't even notice in 2008.
12-15-2011 , 01:27 PM
Well at the very least we know Paul is exceptionally strong when his opponents resort to the newsletters, it has to be a good sign when it happens.
12-15-2011 , 01:28 PM
It may not make a difference at all but a lot of those just getting behind him most likely don't know about this. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the younger crowd didn't. If we do another rally and see a bunch of them I'll ask if they know. It's the only time I see Paul supporters =\
