I can easily say that I would never have voted for Byrd, unless he were running against a wildly unabashed, non-repentant and non-recovered racist like Ron Paul.

Of course, Byrd is dead now. So it makes total sense that you bring up a dead guy to compare and distract from Ron Paul's present-day associations with the most racist of the racist organizations.

"LOOK OVER THERE...DEAD RACISTS FROM THE DEM PARTY!!!!"

Klinker we get that he's racist. The democratic party as a whole is racist for supporting affirmative action. Lots of people are racist. So what?

That's like saying the Dem party is racist as a whole for supporting the 64 and 65 Civil Rights Acts. Do think that's true, btw?

Quotas are illegal in the US. Read about Affirmative Action on your own, so you can get beyond what Ron Paul, Mises and other racists say.

im not talking about quotas. Im talking about affirmative action. And I don't see what the Civil Rights Act has to do with it.

The double down is that affirmative action is racist? The most discriminated group in the US is the white male? How spino1i wins friends and ..... well you know.

Im not talking about which group is most discriminated. That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. All I said is that democratic party was racist for supporting affirmative action. Do you disagree?

Re: Ron Paul 2012 Containment Thread

I saw some links on facebook (which i dont have, FAIL!) that say how ron paul has won more delegates than anyone else. it might have been pertaining to counties in Colorado or something. he was in 2nd in most of the caucus votes though. can someone explain how he received all the delegates if he was in 2nd?

Many people equate AA with quotas, when quotas are, in fact, illegal. Civil Rights and AA are linked, but let's focus on AA right now.

Quote:
Executive Order 11246 enforces affirmative action for the first time

Issued by President Johnson, the executive order requires government contractors to "take affirmative action" toward prospective minority employees in all aspects of hiring and employment. Contractors must take specific measures to ensure equality in hiring and must document these efforts. On Oct. 13, 1967, the order was amended to cover discrimination on the basis of gender.
This is Affirmative Action: Equal Employment Opportunity
Executive Order 11246, As Amended

What don't you like about it?

NYT is reporting the following delegate count:

Romney 94
Santorum 71
Gingrich 29
Paul 8

I don't think you know what racism is, what dominate or minority groups are, disparate impact or disparate treatment are and I think your attempt at a tu quoque idea is foolish and stupid. I think you heard that the postal office gives 18 points on the postal office exam if your black and you thought, "hey that's not fair", then Ron Paul comes along and promises you that he'll even the playing field for you and you can't figure out why that's a dumb idea.

Re: Ron Paul 2012 Containment Thread

Im talking about this ruling which still stands today that the highest court in the land ruled on:

Regents of the University of California v. Bakke, and
Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 US 306 - Supreme Court 2003

Here is the relevant quote from the Wikipedia article on Grutter v Bollinger:

"The Court's majority ruling, authored by Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, held that the United States Constitution "does not prohibit the law school's narrowly tailored use of race in admissions decisions to further a compelling interest in obtaining the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body."

and from California v Bakke

"Powell however stated that universities could use race as a plus factor. He cited the Harvard College Admissions Program which had been filed as an amicus curiae as an example of a constitutionally valid affirmative action program which took into account all of an applicant's qualities including race in a "holistic review"."

Cool, then why are you spouting off the hurt-white-man-AA-is-racist bull**** actual racists spit out? I mean there are actual arguments against AA but it's racist is pretty far down the list.
