Might as well spread this corruption scandal here, since it's likely the administration is connected to Putin, and this is Putin's closest guy, Dmitry Medvedev. https://fbk.info/english/english/post/304/

Please spread the word wide, this is who our president associates with. The FBK guy, Alexei Navalny is running a grassroots presidential campaign there, even though Putin called in a court favor to bar him. That decision will be likely be reversed in European Court, although it's unclear if putin will comply. His parliament passed a law that strips EC's jurisdiction in Russia. Regardless, if they can get the corruption documentary seen by 20 million Russian citizens, it may cause major protests there.

By the way, by law you can't send money to Russian campaigns, but you can send bitcoins. Navalny needs it since Putin is shutting down his campaign contributions accounts anyway. It's a pretty cheap way to support a cause which is helping the resistance.

Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) said late last week that holding town halls is not "productive" and compared it to "the cleansing that the Orientals used to do where you’d put one person out in front and 900 people yell at them."

"You know the cleansing that the Orientals used to do where you’d put one person out in front and 900 people yell at them? That’s not what we need," Bost said Friday in a meeting with the editorial board of The Southern. "The amount of time that I have at home is minimal, I need to make sure that it’s productive."

I just talked to Rep. Bost's office and he has not apologized for the racist remarks and his staff tells me he has no intention of doing so. Please give them a call and let them know what you think.

Proud to have had her as my representative, may never have that feeling again in AZ (McCain one time?); I wonder if she could have challenged for a Senate seat if things had been different.

Einbert you in IL? I'm in the central part but have called Bost's office today. Shoot me a PM if you don't want to narrow down your location in thread.

Guy who spent 100 grand of his retirement money in the eighties to bring back old coke:

Quote:
there was early evidence he might not have been as emotionally involved as he claimed. During the height of New Coke hysteria, The Seattle Times invited him to take a blind taste test. In six tries, Mullins failed to distinguish New Coke from Coke Classic. In at least one attempt, he sipped from a can of Royal Crown Cola and claimed it was authentic Coke. Despite his activism, he never once identified the real thing.

A hundred grand, in 1985. He spent that much in less than 80 days.

Racist idiots. And he's only 56 years old. People barely even used the term when he was a kid.

It's a thing soviets did as well. They'd get a bunch of kids to gang up on someone for misbehaving, suggest punishments. It's a horrible manipulation technique. In the end the person who got shamed sometimes would be let go without punishment. It made him more obedient and everyone else a little ticked off. Teachers use it all the time btw.

If anyone wants to meet up, I'll buy you a beer when we're done. FWIW, Hate Has No Home is the group at this and it's starting at 11:30. Actual Trump rally is probably 12.

ETA: 11:30 is according to the Northwest Herald, I'm not actually involved in planning so I'm not positive.

Feel free to do this on the phone with your representatives . They need to be shamed for their treasonous behavior.
