I know that, you know that, but someone needs to tell that to the people who are out there on a daily basis claiming to represent the Democratic party.
Man, sure sounds like you learned your lesson from being so wrong!

Hillary's corporatism and detachment turned a lot of people off

You should learn from that and stop being so driven by grassroots

So your theory is that HRC being "too corporate" prompted Dem voters to not care if she lost to the guy who literally has his name in 20 foot gold letters on giant monuments to Capitalism?

Not something I had considered.

Lol

Voter turnout is about enthusiasm for the candidate

Especially when everyone says there's no chance they lose

The fact that she and Bill sold out the country, the uranium deal with the Russians, the fake charity which is gone now, make you feel bad for those Haitians that will never see that donated money.
The Clinton's can feel their pain
Terrific people who were broke leaving the White House, it didn't take long to accumulate $300,000,000.
How stupid can you people be?

wrong thread and lacking citations

Alright, whatever you say, Chad. No need to derail further.

Still, I've seen this movie before in WI, and it ended very poorly for the ones doing the obnoxious protesting. Repeating that performance on a national scale is probably not going to turn out any differently.
02-09-2017 , 06:14 PM
Protesting isn't even about getting a candidate elected. I don't know the specifics about your WI protests but you've definitely shown no reason beyond your gut as to why "they got Trump elected."

The protests have already caused real change and caused interventions in the ruining of people's lives, surrendering of their green cards, etc. The protests caused the tie in the Senate on DeVos. There's a long lost of real substantive change that wouldn't have happened if not for the protests.

All you have for proof of your hypothesis is that it's your hypothesis, which makes it that much richer when you reply to facts about what drives voter turn-out with "whatever you say, name"

Inso0 just wants no disruptions in his daily life but when they inevitably happen because he voted for the most incompetent leader in history, he wants to be able to blame liberals again for it in 4 years.

The bolded is false on two points: it is neither fake nor closed. Here's something to get you started on the underlined (do we have a cite on $300M?)

You're welcome!

That's the fault of the observer, not the moderates.

I'll have to go find the article but there's been a paper showing that 'extreme' protests that include property damage and other extreme tactics decrease public support while 'moderate' protests that don't include property damage or arrests increase support. It's a bit more complicated because decreasing public support doesn't mean the policy changes won't be implemented. One example of the opposite is animal experimentation where there's a lot of property damage etc, and there's been a decrease in animal experimentation. It's also complicated because the interplay between 'extreme' protests and 'moderate' protests aren't well known.

Reports of mass deportation sweeps across the LA area today, with house raids and over 100 detained. Lawyers standing by, and reportedly a protest ongoing at Aliso & Alameda Streets (Edward Roybal Federal building/prison), LA.

You're right, ofc. I heard an interview with the woman's husband on NPR earlier. He is undocumented himself but still talking about fighting. My first thought was dude, it's over, you lost. But he still has to take care of his children and try to keep their lives from getting disrupted even more. The fight is just getting started.

Very little reporting of this in the MSM, absolutely shameful.

Rachel had a great segment tonight about a town hall meeting in Utah with senator Chaffetz. More than 1200 showed up. Met him with boos when he came on stage. Chanted "do your job."

Doing good work there
