The number is not known and probably not knowable, but HUDREDS OF THOUSANDS in LA. Organizers put it at 750k. LAPD says "well over 100k" and appeared to be larger than anything since a 2006 immigration march that they put at 500k. NBC is reporting the 750k.
I can't give any estimate myself, but it was very big. Whole blocks were choked with people so you literally couldn't move an inch. Several blocs and a park and a Pershing Square were set aside and blocked off and full and still at the peak surrounding blocks were full of people and cars. We twice ditched the trains because the wait looked essentially forever, once walking and once taking a circuitous bus across town.
She sent me smiling selfies so yeah, I think she really enjoyed it. The election upset her quite a bit. It was really good to hear about her out with her friends protesting and feeling a little bit better about the world.

Bingo. I'm just repeating myself, but this shiz is fun. Really fun. For those who participate, these are halcyon days of life.
We even got 50 ish ppl in podunk rural NM. I don't think that's ever happened here before. Collected contact info, maybe we can revive the local democratic party...
Was in DC with my wife and toddler today marching with some friends. It was crazy how many people were there, it was hard to even guess how many. Lots of laughs were had at the sign game going on. My daughter is a. ****ing champ. barley had any problems with her and we started at 10:30 and didn't get back to our friends place till 6. Had to wait like 3 hours just to March and crazy metro crowds.
A handful of protesters heading down to the massive women's rights rally in Washington say they were turned away at the US border.
A few also report being questioned before reluctantly being allowed into the US.
Hundreds of Canadians travelled to the US to participate in the Women's March on Washington.
Thousands more are taking part in companion rallies planned in cities across the country.
I'm fine with white men not getting a vote, tho. Down with whitey!
I just don't see the point. Make a map of all men and it's flipped. Make a map of all black voters and it flips again, make it of all white voters it turns again. There are many homogeneous societies out there if you'd like to live in one... not sure of the relevance of a hypothetical map if group "x" didn't exist. I know this is sore-loser butt hurt day (fwiw I didn't vote for Trump and think he will be terrible president) but please get a grip. I keep thinking this is the last hurrah and people will get over it. Is my wife going to go into a mourning period again like she did after the election? ffs i hope not.

Sean Spicer just dmed me that the total number in Los Angeles was only three.

Women's March On London (including, as noted earlier, Sir Ian McKellen holding a placard with the classic photo of his friend Sir Patrick Stewart facepalming) got about 100,000.

Lol@ you. This is why men shouldn't be allowed to vote!
In Fairbanks, co-organizer Jeannine Haney said Raven's Landing, the indoor portion of the event, quickly met its 340-person limit.
She had thought Friday that maybe 300 would show up. She suspects it was closer to 2,000 based on attendance at Raven's Landing and crowd estimates, despite morning temperatures in Fairbanks dipping down to minus 20 degrees.
Quote:
Even in Unalakleet, where the temperatures with wind chill hovered around minus 40, about 38 people showed up, according to event organizer Heather Fernstrom.
Fairbanks' population is only 32k. Unalakleet's is 712.
March in DC was awesome. Great energy here, obviously, but I was thrilled to see the huge turnout numbers across the country. Makes me more confident this wasn't just a singular event to release frustration. People are fired up.
