You've got that backwards. I'm into it and provided transportation and wanted to make sure my kid wasn't on the wrong end of a police baton, but it was her idea. I'm also a guest and not the lead actor in the women's protest tomorrow.

That's my story too (except I'm an uncle). This all reminds me of this famous quote...

Going to 3rd and independence with hopefully 100,000 of new friends tomorrow. Look for my sign.

"In soviet amerika, election hacks you."
and "Worst. Inaugural. Ever." on the back.

The young people, they're the ones who are going to save this country.

I'm hoping for 6 figures here in LA. I'm just getting up now for a long journey on LA's not so famous, not so direct public transportation.

Just curious how we start the impeachment process for all the laws he's already broken.
Impeachment is a political process.

Trump could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue. It's not an impeachable offense unless 1/2 of the House of Representatives deems it so.

So to answer your question: No one has standing.

Final participation and attendance projections:

Find your local march here. And go.

There are going to be more people at the woman's march than the inauguration. Amazing.

Is "GOIN' HAM AS A MAN" a bad sign , a good sign, or a great sign?

Probably why the transition team blocked the mall.

This thing is hilarious. Why is everyone wearing a pigs hat? Lol reminds me of European Vacation.

Good luck to all the protesters! Stay safe! Have fun stormin' the castle!

I get that, but if congress refuses to act when the president breaks the law, can someone sue congress into doing their constitutionally required job?

Noodle, will post about that later. It's a question of standing and the answer is very complicated.

Slighly longer answer: the DOJ is a big player in this area. They bring many of the cases and file paperwork in support of private plaintiffs in a lot of other cases. Other groups might eventually step in to take up the slack, but, especially for a few years, individual plaintiffs and groups are going to be unprepared and underresourced compared to the DOJ. And more states are going to try to pass voting restrictions if they thing the DOJ is going to look the other way.

Best case scenario imo is that individual plaintiffs can play a credible game of whack-a-mole for a few years and prevent too much erosion.

John M. Gore argued on behalf of NC's HB2 and has successfully defended multiple times against charges that redistricting violated civil rights.

And we know about Sessions. This seems... not good, for the kind of suing we are talking about but ianal

I don't think Goin Ham As A Man works, you're going to get more confusion and more people thinking you're being aggressive against them than you will people thinking "right on"

Agreed.
01-21-2017 , 01:11 PM
Yeah agreed as well, going with something else.

While creativity is good, reinforcing the popular "Keep your tiny hands off our rights" and "Women's rights are human rights" is never wrong.
