Voter ID, building a wall, "locking up" liberals and academics, "blue lives matter," wanting to separate mothers and children at the border, wanting to bring back stop and frisk, mocking colin kaepernick, the Republican party is fascist + racist through and through. If you refuse to admit this you are just being willfully ignorant at this point. He has a cabinet full of CEOs and Wall Street people when he promised to drain the swamp, for the love of cake. His actual policy agenda is clear for us all to see. It's all about Sessions and ramping up Jim Crow 2.0, a war against people of color and immigrants (legal and illegal), and sending more and more resources to the very very wealthy. All the parts of Trump's agenda that he is following through on are the white supremacist parts, because that's his base and he knows it.

It could be for a number of reasons.

Some could actually be racist , some could just be ignorant and or fed up with being ignored and let down by mainstream politics, other might see the world through a different lens than you having been brought up in a different way and not view him as racist at all.

If racism was the only motive for voting Trump why did some Obama voters vote for him this time? Why do some black and hispanic people vote for him?

You will convince them with dialogue which is why free speech is so important. What happens hypothetically in a few years if some of these quite far left guys get in charge and put in loads of hate speech laws that restricts these alt righters speech.

Voting for Trump is a positive act of racism. Just like voting for Voter ID laws, voting for mass incarceration, voting for redistricting that disenfranchises minorities. You can't separate the two things. Every Trump voter has committed a positive act of racism, and every one needs to admit that and make positive steps to correct that situation. Trying to believe anything else is wishful thinking and coddling that will lead to absolutely no progress.

And yes black people can be racist as well. They are fed the same anti-black programming as the rest of us Americans are every single day, why wouldn't some of them end up accepting a lot of it? A lot of anti-minority programming has been aimed at people of color for decades. Look at how Asian Americans were lifted up as "model minorities" in a direct effort to denigrate and justify further discrimination against black American communities. This is very typical and it continues today of course.
