Is this something you really talk about with friends?

Yeah, some of them have kids. It's not like we sit around at spend a saturday night about it, but when someone has a son and someone mentions the kid getting snipped, different opinions come out.
In fact, I just got done a mind-numbing baby shower and 3 women were talking about it. One said she wasn't, one said she was, and no one really cared either way. Definitely not as passionate as some of the people in this thread.

Usually the people who ask are anti-circ. Same thing with people who ask about breast-feeding, usually pro-breastfeeding. Although we had the opposite- someone asking if we were cutting our son or going to breastfeed. She cut and used formula, which was odd she asked. It's kind of a personal thing, not sure why people need to be asking about my sons dick or how he's going to eat.
For the baby shower I see it, but I don't see a bunch of guys talking about their dicks being circumcised or not.

She wasn't militant about it, just was asking my wife. It's almost like she was trying to validate her choices. She's a pretty terrible mother (even without that) in general- her house is a disgusting MRSA infested mess, her kids are brats, her and her husband are severely overweight. And huge liberals And by liberals, I mean completely unprincipled Obama nuthuggers, who will defend anything a Democrat does, but call out any Republican doing the same thing as the devil.

To be fair, the loudest ones are the craziest, so it's probably somewhere in the middle, but you only hear about the nuts ones. The whole "I wish I could hear" segment isn't going to get much press.

the foreskin protects your penis head from rubbing against your boxers/legs/shorts and retains its sensitivity.

However, I'd like to freely admit I think I'd just go for the circ if I had a son. I'm snipped and I'm quite happy with Mr Happy. I've never felt that I would have much better sex if I was "more sensitive". I was always overjoyed that I could find a girl to agree to have sex in the first place, whether or not I enjoyed it very much was a far distant second.

You've never "felt" that you would have better sex if you were more sensitive. But how would you know if you have always been snipped? Maybe there is a whole other level of better sex that you have never experienced. Why keep your son from having that? Are you hatin on your unborn son?

Re: Recent circumcizion ruling in Germany
This thread has inspired me to have my sons re-circumcized.
Circumcized people go to heaven. Not sure exactly why, but better safe than sorry.

Re: Recent circumcizion ruling in Germany
I don't understand how its so "personal". You breastfeed? Great. You don't? Great.
Who cares?
Some women can't produce enough milk, so they have to use formula. Some just prefer it. I'm sure there were plenty of humans who turned out fine either way. I think people are, just as you said, simply validating their choices and get defensive over nothing.

Re: Recent circumcizion ruling in Germany
Quick question, are pro-circ people okay with me doing this to my kid?

Jews regularly practice circumcision as part of their religion, but mostly ultra-Orthodox Jews practice metzitzah b'peh, during which the mohel, or person performing the procedure, orally sucks the blood from the infant's newly circumcised penis.

Obviously a hygiene/safety issue. Not the same.
