I don't know, if Ben Carson went around pinching asses he'd probably get tossed under the bus as fast as they could toss him.

US Person #1: I know he did it in the past, but he repented and changed. These newer charges are bogus. It's just the media and the left trying to take him down...and they won.

Let me say goodbye to everyone now, just in case this post doubles as my suicide note.
This is why I abandoned conservatism a very long time ago. There is no actual moral backbone or standard. Everything is malleable which is ridiculous.

I don't want the creeps on Espn working who sexually harass women than I do any newscaster regardless of their perspective. I have never tolerated it in my businesses nor in any situation where I was responsible for other people.

The idea that person think he is reformed and repented is insane. If that's the case he can go off and rebuild his reputation honestly. He doesn't do any favors being kept there. And of course fox is not to be praised for any of this. They nurtured this culture for decades. Heck the same thing happened at ESPN.

There certainly is a real and dangerous situation with false accusations being used by people but that is why you don't do anything in a knee jerk fashion and rush to judgment. However it's improbable that a dozen women would all make false accusations and go away for cash payouts. We all know that fox ownership and management was complicit.

Humanity is the worst.
There are audio recordings from when he had his first harassment scandal like 5 or 10 years ago. I couldn't believe he got through that one unscathed, but it obviously only empowered him.

i'm imagining if fox gave billo a special type of bonus that's only redeemable with the $7000/night prostitutes eliot spitzer was ****ing, if they would have saved money on this whole mess
04-20-2017 , 08:59 PM
whatever his salary was he easily could've afforded them himself.

Yeah the this is just b/c of leftists or anti old people or whatever the hell nonsense I saw out there as the excuse is just insane and unreal but the reality is he only went down b/c advertisers cancelled, and they only did so b/c of public pressure.

He must've been sick about going down too, probably thinking he was so well insulated.

Sadly, that only comes to $2.5 million for a new prostitute every day of the year, so you're probably right.

Yeah it's weird that these old dudes with millions of dollars don't just go out and hire a discreet call girl when they need to get their rocks off instead of groping their coworkers. Creepy ****s must just get off on being abusive *******s at work.

Because it's an ego trip. Wanting what you cannot have. It's not about sex. It's about the power.

I occasionally would hate-listen to this show back in the mid aughts when my job kept me in my car most of the day. My favorite moment was the time where he went off on a rant about what a killing the government was making on the gas tax (this was back when gas was $4/gal everywhere). He didn't understand that most of the state gas taxes and the federal gas tax are per gallon, not % based so the revenues didn't change. He went on and on about it until someone finally called in and corrected him.

O'REILLY: Now there is a legitimate argument about the government, both state and federal, taxing gasoline, which they do all over the place. So, of course, they're making more money, the government's making more money now that the uh, gasoline prices are higher, because their tax goes up. Percentage of money they get goes up. So maybe that's factoring into it. I don't know. But I do know this: the oil companies did not have to raise this price this high. They did it because, as Bill Clinton once said, they could. Right back.

I'm not sure about this as I don't live over in the UK, but isn't it true that one of Rupert Murdoch's UK tabloid publications started the nifty practice of displaying photos of topless young women on page 3? (These women were called/are called "Page 3" girls?)

So it's no great surprise that guys like Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly believed they could get away with anything since the "Big Boss" (Rupert) [apparently] believes the most important thing about a woman is the size of her breasts. As Rupert was signing those multi-million $$$ settlement checks for [alleged] victims of Ailes and O'Reilly, he must have called the perpetrators into his office and "chewed them out" (with a hearty laugh and a wink), telling them: "Hey, as long as your ratings are good and the money keeps rolling in, you have nothing to worry about from me!"

But, as any lawyer will point out, there are two sides to every story ...

The women at Fox News Channel can't escape at least some of the blame for the exploitative environment in which most of them willingly participated. Ever since Andrea Mackris [back in 2004?] brought her suit against O'Reilly and Fox News, all the women that followed - including Gretchen Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Laurie Dhue, et al. - must have known that FNC was a cesspool of leering dirty old men. Of course, they were thinking about their "careers" and the big bucks that go with appearing in front of the camera, but there's no way they can claim they didn't know about the reputations of Ailes and O'Reilly - not to mention Mr. Murdoch's penchant for posting pictures of naked women in his tabloid papers. For these women to claim they had no idea FNC was a place where rampant sexism was practiced and tolerated is a bit disingenuous. When that kind of stuff is going on inside a company, word gets around ...

Victim blaming ITT.

Is your logic seriously "They shouldn't have worked at Fox if they didn't want to be harassed."?
04-23-2017 , 11:13 AM
That, and "The women disingenuously claimed not to know about the harassment at Fox. But they knew..." Creepy.

And every murder victim had a reason they were killed, right?

BillO is resuming his podcast tomorrow. Which probably means he isn't planning to going away quietly.
