Re: The Presidency of George W. Bush

How's about we end the derail and talk about the despicable Don Rumsfeld and the bird-brain that kept him on? How big a mistake was that? Of course I think it was huge: Ignore your top military brass, we're going to wage an unnecessary war w/ the army we have, etc, etc.

http://politicalhumor.about.com/cs/q...feldquotes.htm

I can't pick out a favorite quote so I'm settling for these two:

"I believe what I said yesterday. I don't know what I said, but I know what I think, and, well, I assume it's what I said."

"Needless to say, the President is correct. Whatever it was he said."

Re: The Presidency of George W. Bush

btw, if you haven't seen W. I think it was pretty good. The 'Where are the WMD's?' scene being just so, so much of a cringe. I actually felt sorry for the dope.

The only good thing that happened under GWB was tax cuts.

The rest of it was terrible, just typical government behavior.

You can always count on Phill to pick a political side and defend it. I got to admit he's one hell of a team player.

Re: The Presidency of George W. Bush

innocent people dying is quite a bad thing. if it's an inevitable by-product of a war or certain tactics, the war/tactics better have tremendous positives that outweigh it. naturally, the pro war crowd tends to spin this into a retarded false dilemma where you are either ok with any degree of "collateral damage" or you must always oppose war.

Notable events.

1. Stupid war in Afghanistan. Lots of bombs. Lots of dead people. No exit plan. We're still there.

2. Stupid war in Iraq. No WMD. No threat to the U.S. Lots of dead people. No exit plan. We're still there.

3. Prescription drug benefit. $100b a year. Unfunded.

4. Income Tax cuts. $70b a year. Unfunded.

5. Capital Gains Tax Cuts. Unclear how expensive due to being tied to other tax giveaways and boondoggles. Unfunded.

6. Katrina. Good job Brownie!

7. Torture? All good.

8. Mission accomplished.

I think he is the worst president since the gilded age. Come at me.
How is keeping more of my money unfunded.....it just goes to show how leftist think. All money is there except what they allow us to keep

Did this not get us info need to dismantle most of terror networks and get us more terrorists?

True, just how many are still being killed by homicide bombers?
