I mean he is a Princeton grad with a Notre Dame JD, he's not a dummy. I assume Trump said what he said because of that idiotic conspiracy theory he got fired for on Fox. And more than once I've seen him be an actual lawyer even on Fox and come to the correct conclusion which obv rarely agrees with conservative dogma. But FNC is all about ratings, wtf do they care that he has no cred now? unless he just made the story up from whole cloth which I guess is possible from how it reads. But usually even in those cases they just issue an apology during the 3:35 PM ad break and move on

Like has anyone ever been fired from Fox News for lack of credibility?

Like if credibility is an actual issue with FNC brass why is Billo still on the air?
My guess is this just got so much attention, they felt they had to do something. But they'll ultimately just put him back on the air after this all blows over in a few weeks. It's a good sign though when even Fox News is feeling the heat.

Notice he's not technically fired, at least not from my reading of the story. This is kind of like suspended with/without pay for a cop.

Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano is being kept off the air indefinitely amid the controversy over his unverified claims that British intelligence wiretapped Trump Tower at the behest of former President Obama.

He got fired for embarrassing the President. Obv their talking heads are still free to repeat/make up total nonsense

yeah, the F-word wasn't even used, he'll be back just like that chick who berated the tow truck girl on ESPN

People say this but I would argue it's the sole thing that separates the Democrats from the Republicans. Both sides are corrupt in their own way but the Democrats won't sacrifice the country to appease the base.

This liberal obsession over Russiagate reminds me a lot of the fainting couch shortage brought on by Benghazi. Different idiots rooting hard for a different team, but they both obviously end up the same; big waste of time nothingburgers to froth up the fan base.

One actually has evidence of wrongdoing. How many NSA's were fired over their ties to Benghazi?

I'm not really following so the finer points are lost on me (lol). I guess only time will tell if I nailed it (I did).

Aren't there any penalties Trump should be subject to, for falsely accusing Obama, multiple times, of tapping his phones? It tilts me that Trump will never apologize or admit any wrong-doing, and this will just blow over. Some sort of official censure from Congress seems to be in order here, no? It wasn't just typical Trump idiocy... it was conduct unbecoming the office of president.

One major difference is that the ceiling for Benghazi was that mistakes were made, a couple Americans were killed, and the administration attempted to cover up the fact that mistakes were made. That was the worst case scenario. The ceiling for this scandal is winning office via treasonous collaboration with a hostile foreign power. The correct analogy for Benghazi would be the Yemen raid, which was a story for a little bit and then dropped in favor of things which actually imperil the country.

I sort of agree that liberals are overplaying their hand ("JEFF SESSIONS IS IN ON IT TOO!" is one example that makes no sense to me) but I disagree there's no substance to the scandal.

From a more cynical political point of view, it has been repeatedly demonstrated by the GOP that truth is irrelevant and the American public can be convinced of something if you simply repeat it enough. So from a strategist point of view, overplaying your hand is just fighting fire with fire.

There's a first time for everything (this isn't that time).

Chris, some people are conflating scandals because to 99% of people there's so much **** going on its nearly impossible to keep track. I don't blame them for casual ignorance here tbh, unless they have a track record (see:losing all)

How are liberals overplaying their hand here? they are in charge of zero investigations here

Not gonna happen when republicans control congress.

Yeah, it might still blow over, we're only two months in and yemen story is already basically dead.

Trump still has things he can do to gain points back in the polls or kill the whole investigation. Or turn it 180 and beat them to the punch with obama/hillary/whoever. There's a lot of **** to go.
