You know it's got to be a lot of old people to be up before the sun on a Wednesday for a townhall meeting.

What would it mean, to win you over? And what would it take, besides getting everyone in the world to stop posting about "imaginary racism"?

And what does "imaginary racism" mean? Do you think Trump and many of his closest advisors don't have decades of history of racist actions? Is it that you think discussion of hand signals by some people on the Internet has more meaning than that history?

Who are the people that "we" need to win over to defeat Trump? How much farther do we need to go to win them over, beyond making sure that nobody talks about hand signals (or possibly a whole lot more imaginary racism; I don't yet know how big that category is to you) on the Internet?

My contention is that when people see you guys talking about secret hand signals from the white house as a guy adjusts his tie, you lose credibility. Everything you say is then judged through the lens of "yeah, but, they also think there is a secret conspiracy to conduct white supremacy from the White House using smoke signals and Morse code."

A few people on here called Rand Paul a white nationalist. So when I see that, and I see the same crew examining hand positions, I can't help but wonder what other claims of racism are complete nonsense as well.

Tsao,

We're saying that "credibility" is proven to be a total bull**** excuse if the response to the lack of it is voting for a man who has the least credibility of any human who exists. Any who says their voting for trump because the other side lacks credibility is either lying (to themselves possibly) or doesn't understand what the word means.

Good luck finding any group that has any credibility, then.

Again, though, it's not clear at all who you think makes up this group, who this group represents, why the few people discussing hand signals represents whatever group you're talking about...

And it's not clear why this makes you... less skeptical of Trump? I don't know that you're saying it does, but that's one guess of what you mean when you talk about winning you over. I don't know what winning you over means. Does it mean convincing you to vote Democrat? Do you think this thread is representative of Democratic Party voters and/or candidates? Do you think you apply the same criteria to the extrapolation of the hand signal discussion that you apply to other groups regarding degradation of their credibility?

Why do you feel the need to rely on the credibility of these Internet posters to "win you over" or otherwise inform your vote/position/research?
02-22-2017 , 10:22 AM
Look at the hyperbole going on here....least credibility of all time Donald Trump? Of 7 billion people???? Keep this up and Donald Trump will be president in 2028

you don't actually find racism disgusting, and you don't hate what trump stands for if this "gang sign" nonsense triggers you so badly that it would cause you to go running into daddy's arms.

your whole position here is stupid

Good news everyone, America is such a ahole we'll deport people to Mexico who aren't even from Mexico, just to save money and because we're terrified of foreigners.
Quote:
Buried deep in the Trump administration’s plans to round up undocumented immigrants is a provision certain to enrage Mexico — new authority for federal agents to deport anyone caught crossing the southern border to Mexico, regardless of where they are from.

If present immigration trends continue, that could mean the United States would push hundreds of thousands of Guatemalans, Hondurans, Salvadorans, Brazilians, Ecuadorans, even Haitians into Mexico. Currently, such people are detained in the U.S. and allowed to request asylum.

President Trump wants them to do so from Mexico, communicating via videoconference calls with U.S. immigration officials from facilities that Mexico would presumably be forced to build.

“This would say if you want to make a claim for asylum or whatever we’ll hear your case but you are going to wait in Mexico,” a DHS official said. “Those are details that are being worked out both within the department and between the US government and the government of Mexico … there are elements that still need to be worked out in detail.

If you want to be riveted and depressed simultaneously, there is an incredible New Yorker article about a unit assisting in Mosul whose members have all lost family to ISIS. Incredible journalism.
02-22-2017 , 10:50 AM
like what do you even mean "win you over"? i thought you find racism to be disgusting, ergo you were already on our team? if you are really disgusted by racism, then it follows to actually have a basic understanding of what racism is and how it affects people's lives. people making jokes about a confirmed racist throwing up gang signs shouldn't be something that upsets you or shatters your liberal worldview, unless you're just lying about the whole premise of actually giving a **** about racism

gtfo here with this chezlite bull****

The Republican base loves this kind of mindless cruelty. This is why people call Republicans the new party of white nationalism in America, and I don't think it's an exaggeration.

You have to admire such a commitment to cruelty that they'd forgo building American detention centers and export the detention building industry and those jobs to Mexico.

Post policy Republicans

"Republicans want to turn Elizabeth Warren into the face of the Democratic Party"

Missing from this strategy is any mention of Warren's actual policies.

Get ready for a lot of Warren photoshopped into Native American clothes

Quote:
“Elizabeth Warren is the face of the Democratic Party," said National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Cory Gardner (Colo.). "She's extremely popular with their base, and that's why she's leading them right now. That's why [Democrats] are voting 100 percent of the time with Elizabeth Warren."
Quote:
So Warren it is. Her liberal profile makes for an inviting contrast to the image of moderation that swing-state Democrats will be aiming to project in a host of conservative-leaning states next year, Republicans say. And to the extent they can knock Warren down a few pegs, it would diminish an early Democratic frontrunner for president in 2020.

Under fire for a perceived lack of interest in investigating President Donald Trump’s administration, House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) appears to have sniffed out his next big probe.

But it won’t be into Trump’s financial conflicts of interests, Michael Flynn’s contact with the Russian government or the Kremlin’s meddling in the U.S. election. Instead, Chaffetz plans to get to the bottom of a December post to Twitter in which Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park warmly welcomed Bears Ears National Monument ― and a second monument in Nevada ― to the National Park Service family, as The Salt Lake Tribune reported Tuesday.

The congressman told the publication that he suspects Bryce Canyon officials may have had advanced knowledge of the monument’s designation, which to him suggests the Obama administration misled Utah officials.
Quote:
The tweet Chaffetz finds so suspicious was posted by Bryce Canyon on Dec. 29, the day after the White House designated the more than 1.35-million-acre Bears Ears National Monument in southern Utah. It’s not the actual timing of the tweet that raised red flags for Chaffetz but what he suspects was known before the tweet. Along with a photo showing a new compartment for Bears Ears maps, the park wrote that it had been holding a “hopeful slot” for the monument for some time.

“Maybe they were just hopeful, but they regularly complain about lack of resources and more money for maintenance budgets and this is a small item but I want to know if there was communication and were they being truthful with the governor and the delegation,” Chaffetz told the Tribune.

Yea Cheffetz, you use your awesome power of the US government to investigate....................a local national park service for a harmless tweet. Throwing some red meat to the Republican constituents.
