Unless Trump is looking for a easy out to fire Sessions, which his Russian buddy has oh-so-conveniently given him.

He wouldn't be the first guy Trump fired for lying about talking to the Russians. That's definately a red line for Trump.

As ATC pointed out, something did happen. Also the first time he was able to come up with a bull**** explanation that, although bull****, gave Trump slappies something to believe in. They need to move to the "Yeah I did it, so what?" defense now, which is really not all that effective politically despite what this thread believes.

He gets to hire a new AG without going all Saturday night massacre, someone who presumably will be able to get confirmed with 50/51 R votes while answering questions about what he'll do with the special counsel, then immediately put a stop to the special counsel? I don't see that as a realistic chain of events without serious political consequences but I think that's the theory.

Get rid of Sessions-> fire Mueller. Is that good for Trump? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

what a nightmare if that goes through and just barely not enough backlash for anything to happen.

Honestly I can't imagine it, but the longshot odds are there...

I would not expect Sessions, little weasel bastard that he is, to go quietly.

I'm not one to advocate smacking women, but if there's ever a woman in need of smacking, it's Louise Mensch.

Anthony Scaramucci talked to russian news service in january about sanctions
DAVOS, Switzerland, January 17. /TASS/. U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump has big respect for the Russian people and Russian culture and he is signaling that whatever the current hostilities may be, there is a hope the two countries can improve the situation in the coming years, Anthony Scaramucci, Trump’s senior advisor for communications with business told TASS.

...

"You know the Russian people better than me," he said. "I think the sanctions had in some ways an opposite effect because of Russian culture. I think the Russians would eat snow if they had to. And so for me the sanctions probably galvanized the nation with the nation's president."

"Long-term sanctions could be painful had they been effective in other areas? In other nations the answer is yes, or otherwise they wouldn't be using them if they weren't effective, but what I think we have to do now is think outside the box."

Why would he make a deal with the feds when he can just make a deal with Trump for a pardon?

Yeah the timing makes no sense. Unless it took this long to confirm their source? I wouldn't call that sitting on a story though.

if jared gets pardoned, some future democrat-controlled legislature would call him to testify under oath about what all went down, and he can't plead the 5th and every time he lies it's 7 years of federal prison.

So....just tell the truth. Everybody you care about already has a pardon (Trump maybe via Pence). Sounds much better than ratting on the only dude who can save yor from federal jail time.

She wrote for Heat Street ffs. She seems to be little more than an opportunistic grifter.
