And it's not so easy. Your dad may be an idiot Trump supporter. He might even be a racist. But at the same time, he might be someone who made incredible sacrifices so that you could have a better life than he did. It's pretty easy to feel conflicted and confused about how to deal with that sort of person.
Yeah there is so many issues and so much history in a typical family it just doesn't pay to trigger all of that over a political disagreement. You should certainly represent your views and actions but challenging family members when it starts to create tension is not going to help anyone.

going to war with russia for what exactly?

I would dispute this take on the grounds that part of dagger9's ban reason is "previously banned user". It's mystifying how he got to >50 posts here over a period of weeks when you only needed 5-10 for "previously banned racist troll" to be an utter lock.

ow President Trump has appointed longtime loyalist Lynne Patton — who has zero housing experience and claims a law degree the school says she never earned — to run the office that oversees federal housing programs in New York.

Patton was appointed Wednesday to head up the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Region II, which includes New York and New Jersey, where she’ll oversee distribution of billions of taxpayer dollars.

[...]

She also claims on her LinkedIn page to have obtained a juris doctorate degree in 2000 from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut. Next to the J.D. notation is written (N/A) without explanation.

[...]

She also listed Yale University but HUD officials couldn’t explain why that was there.

Again, nobody told him to cut anybody off. The part in question was what to do if a Trump fan won't turn off their vocal support around you. If you agree to not talk politics with somebody and they continue to introduce politics as a topic of conversation, what recourse do you have at that point other than to pull away?

Who was he before?

The nepotism wouldn't even be that annoying if Trump actually knew anybody that would be reasonably good at whatever position they're filling but instead we're getting wedding planners put in charge of billions and idiots who don't even know what their agency does plopped into Cabinet roles.
06-19-2017 , 04:10 PM
Trump's just paranoid at this point and thinks no one not related by blood or a close family friend can ever be considered anything approaching "completely loyal to Trump."

The cabinet appointments are all Bannon and are bad by design.

Old Mafia trick - make sure that as many people as possible in your team are family, and as many as possible are dirty. You get loyalty and a mentality that if one goes down, they all go down.

(Disclaimer - I know nothing about the Mafia, though I did watch the Sopranos.)

Would be funny but then they'd just get someone equally as awful, or just give the job to Funny Man Mike Huckabee's daughter.

But we've been hearing this almost non stop since Spicey was up there defending inaugural crowd sizes so I'll believe when I see

Don't you kind of get the feeling that this whole thing ends with Jared coughing up blood as Chump holds Jared's nose?

it's times like these that we should remember the folks inside the trump admin literally have a game of seeing what the biggest lie they can get the media to print is
