The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Special counsel is a win too, but it feels like there are some big downsides to it as well. Namely, the drawn out nature of a thorough investigation and GOP's new ability to defer to Mueller without taking responsibility come to mind.

This.

I mean boilerplate GOP **** (repeal/replace Obamacare) is still gonna happen but Trump is a nightmare on a foreign affair level. At least Pence isn't going to spill valuable intelligence in order to make himself look good to foreign diplomats.

This is really a magnificent tweet. Perfect.

I also think it should be the narrative text for the first two pages of a Trump coloring book.

Turns out a lot of old people suck. My Dad has been Fox News-adled for years now and simply won't engage with anything negative towards his point of view. My parents left a years-long text conversation with our immediate family in response to me saying that Republican policies are only designed to hurt people. My mom, who is brainwashed by him, will engage but immediately falls back on arguing with nonsense right wing talking points or deflecting.

I'm probably a slow pony but there's video evidence that Erdogan personally ordered the attack on American citizens on American soil

Normally this would be a huge story that would ban that leader forever. In our world, this won't make page 15 or the D block.

It's just a reminder that Trump gives 0 ****s about patriotism, america, or americans.

It's pretty normal to ignore unpalatable things even when they really should be faced up to and addressed. So I'd give her a break if she's getting on.

Odds s*** hits the fan while he's abroad and he seeks political asylum in a foreign country to avoid prosecution?

I know he's President and all, but I kind of can't believe Trump is actually going to go to Saudi Arabia and Israel and make speeches. I'm afraid of either of two things:

1) Somehow he just reads speeches that aren't particularly controversial without going off-script and people call him "presidential" for a day.

2) He just totally goes full Trump.

I kind of grotesquely want #2 just to see what it's like, but I'm also afraid of the consequences.

This is truly horrendous. If this does get forgotten in the general ****show which is this administration I think future historians may well look back at this as a beginning to a new America

Trump flatters the audience. I expect him to say some stupid things in both places. When he paints Saudi Arabia as a great champion of freedom or some such he'll look particularly dumb.

Isn't the FBI director a sworn law enforcement agent? I mean if he's sitting there while the POTUS commits a crime, would he be duty bound to basically snap the cuffs on him right at that moment? The Secret Service are LEOs too, they'd be obligated to assist him.

Like what would happen if the FBI director is sitting there while the POTUS slaps his wife. Does he just write a 'memo' and send it to the AG?

The whole thing is beyond bizarre.

GOP is back to Immigration. Current bills in the house not only hire a bunch new deportation officers also get body armor and assault rifles because mothers with several kids and people here since they were 2 are real threats to the nation. Also arrest them without a warrant.

What else is in this you ask? DACA people are now criminals. Immigration violations go from civil to 20 year criminal.

You're all great people. Some of you caused 911 and gave money to crooked Hillary but most of you are just great people.

A lot of crazy **** is threatened to happen but rarely does.

SCOTUS will stop this if it ever gets through. It's insanity.

Unless the SCOTUS has no problem with ICE becoming America's Gestapo.

I'm unclear on the subject to. Theoretically, if he pulled a gun and shot say Bannon in cold blood in front of the secret service or FBI director would he be incarcerated on the spot?

We don't even know WTF he has planned for this trip, do we? Aside from public reasons like religion, or reported stuff like Jared arranging weapons deals for Saudi Arabia, what could Trump actually have up his sleeves?
