This is not the America we should be. You have a 3.6 BILLION chance of getting killed by a terrorist in the USA. We should throw out the constitution for such a small chance? Change who we are? always been?

Breitbart has always been terrible but seeing their headlines today knowing that Bannon is in charge and behind these orders is truly frightening. Especially after I learned during the election that a ton of people actually buy into their propaganda.

Saying the disgust with what they did yesterday is being led by terror linked groups, the judges who overturned the order are political hacks, etc. Remember they are signaling their intentions by telling us what would have to be true to justify what is coming next.

I think Priebus resigning would be very significant signal to R congress, not that I expect it to happen.

You have to admit that tiny little hand is convenient when the closest help while descending a fearful staircase is a lady.

Although it does kind of make pajama boy look like the ****ing Marlboro Man in comparison.

To be honest, this is a debate America should have led in 2002. Since then many American values do only still exist in memory.

Not sure if this got posted yet, this is a scathing analysis by a center right Brookings Fellow at Lawfare. It starts off hot and then goes nuclear, I ran out of fire emoji's when retweeting it.

The malevolence of President Trump’s Executive Order on visas and refugees is mitigated chiefly—and perhaps only—by the astonishing incompetence of its drafting and construction.

Priebus on Meet the Press. All of these people need to be in jail. I never imagined I would be watching actual evil in the US.

The truley bizzare thing about this administration is it's so diffucult to differentiate gross incompetent from actual evil. This makes both so much more pernicious.

I have a very sinking feeling that the incompetence displayed here is part of some master plan - provoke a huge ruckus knowing that the EO will get beaten back, but use the backlash as inoculation against resistance to much worse actions when their Reichstag opportunity presents itself.

Part of the source of the incompetence is that the parties with the relevant expert knowledge in the executive branch are being cut out of the loop and authority is being centralized with Bannon and other Trump insiders. Very alarming.

The difference is that there have been no widespread, continuing, large scale protests against US military activities. And I get it, this has happended for decades and people got used to it.
But when you think about it, it's absurd.
Trump temporarily stops people from certain countries from entering the US and people are afraid he might be the next Hitler.
Obama let the US Army drop thousands of bombs on other countries but he's cool, no harm done. I don't get it, really.

I see why people think this immigration ban is bad and even I think it's not a good idea.
But please pause and reflect for a moment that Obama did refuse people in other countries basic civil rights by killing them and their family members. The US violated the sovereignity of other countries.
Travelling the world and entering another country is no basic human right.
What the US has done for decades is far worse than not letting people into your country imho.

Also, you guys will be fine. What do you think will change in your lives throughout this year? I bet for most of you, nothing will change. You will be able to express your opinion, you will be able to be gay, you will be allowed to go on with your life.
Comparing Trump to Hitler is ridiculous and childish.
You know, a lot of people here in Germany are afraid of immigrants and Islam. But they are fine and for the most part, their lives haven't changed. I think their fearmongering is as unsubstantial as the fearmongering in this thread.
Sure, this year. But if we normalize this kind of behavior, things more extreme move closer and closer to the line of what is normal.

This

Is

Not

Normal.

executive power is being consolidated into the hands of obese lunatic steve bannon, a man who drunkenly revealed to a reporter that his goal is to destroy the state

trump's cabinet appears to be full of at the minimum extremely pro christians and russian agents

but yeah just like obama

Uh, putin is still very live, if (when if nothing is done about it within whatever months, they're gaining by the day and we're losing) they get full control laws don't matter at all.

I don't understand the mantra that everything will be fine when he's done a million things in just a week? You think he's gonna stop? It's this every week. They've just started. I don't trust a bunch of people who insist there's extreme muslim terrorism and building a **** load of military the goal isn't a f'ing holy war.

6 months from today america will be quite different if they're still there.

America has changed for good now, we're now awaiting the final damage results of this.

Holy can't believe Tim Kaine is the the only person with a spin. Calls out the obvious fact that holocaust comment and Muslim ban is not coincidence. It's obviously unabashed racism.

I've never seen such open and gleeful racism in public life in my lifetime.

I think the incompetence part is actually simply looking to see who will follow them blindly and who won't.

can you point out any laws that have been broken or do you just have a wish to see those with differing political views jailed?

Being in a position where you hope that the president is merely slightly evil and totally incompetent is terrifying.
