Who is this Haberman lady? They Print this crap?

Haberman is totally legit, has great sources. Maybe she's humoring them. Many of the main inside-scoop stories we've shared the last six months have been from her. She's Glenn Thrush's BFF (they both covered the mayor's office while working for tabloids a decade ago), but smarter.

Don't know about Kushner, but is seems like Flynn would have be very interested in Syria, both because of his own concerns about ISIS and on behalf of his Turkish paymasters.

Maybe, but apparently not enough for the administration to develop any kind of plan, except to not arm the Kurds as Obama was going to because Turkey did not approve.

True and unloading what dirt they have and the influence over the president. All the collusion, everything.

If it comes to that, there's a good chance the whole family gets RICO'd up.

I think you're letting the pretty blonde act fool you. Ivanka's just as crooked as the rest of the fam.

What do y'all think?
They immediately declined his initial immunity request for a reason. They've got more than enough to nail him without any further cooperation.

No one really knows the extent of what all the agencies combined have on everyone else. It's possible it's already enough to bring down the entire administration tomorrow. If not, then they probably will grant immunity if necessary. But I actually think the longer they hold out (on granting immunity) the better it looks that this administration's fate is sealed.

OTOH, I'm also paranoid that a possible deep state and the GOP will blindly look the other way no matter what is found. I certainly have no faith in elected officials anymore.

Christie said he would never have let Flynn in WH. Having sent Jared's dad to prison and following up by dropping this grenade in Jared's lap would be pretty sweet revenge, if he was so inclined.

If this was all an elaborate, Richard III-style revenge plot, then I have enormous respect for Chris Christie. Let him be president; Putin's not going to **** with someone who can pull off that kind of 4D chess savagery.

Thanks for mentioning. Interesting stuff. I can't believe this part:

On April 29, 2017, Fyre Festival announced that it would offer all attendees a choice between a full refund or VIP tickets to the following year's festival.
Not enough lols for that.

"Extremely naive or absolutely crazy" does not look good for Kushner...

watching experienced government people looking absolutely flabbergasted over Kushner's inexplicable "back channel" request in the Russian Embassy.

Support of the Kurds in defiance of the Turks has stepped up if anything, but I doubt Trump is involved other than telling the military to do whatever it thinks is best. Unless I missed something very recent, but google doesn't turn anything up. We now have US troops on the Northern Syria (Kurdish area)/Turkish border to keep the Turks from attacking.

Kushner probably does have a get out of jail free card.
05-27-2017 , 01:22 AM
My understanding was the US troops were in Syrian towns keeping Turkish aligned militias away from the Kurds and not the Turkish Army at the border.

Are all foreign embassies in the US under surveillance?

i believe the traditional gop of the past would fear the olds, but this new trump version of the gop just does not care. they luckboxed the election and know this window will probably be their last chance in a long, long while where they will ever hold all three branches of government, so they're going to use their one time to undo the system and assist the mega-rich in robbing the american people totally blind, likely knowing worst case most will end up having cushy private sector jobs waiting for them after this is all over.

from the gop's point of view it's a win-win: in some warped alternate reality where things somehow turn out okay, they can take all the credit, while for all other outcomes, they can just blame trump.

I'm going to sum it up quicker: People are dumb, they hate their lives and get jealous of others doing way better. In their minds the following occurs:
Step 1. They see one candidate as more of the same and another as a massive changing of the guard. It doesn't matter how logical it will be, they just see everything being turned on end.
Step 2.?????????? This is all subconscious, it doesn't make any logical sense. The mind jumps a step, the basis for anarchist feelings.
Step 3. They have now switched places with their successful neighbour because everything has been turned upside down.

I'm sure it depends on the country, but given how often diplomatic cover is used to carry out espionage activities, I'd imagine that we at least occassionally physically or electronically monitor embassies or personnel from a lot of countries.

(Side note: I used to live a few blocks away from the Russian embassy in DC. It always amused me that they kept a few cars idling in a side alley 24/7... I guess it's a precaution, but if I noticed the vehichles, I'm pretty sure that anyone planning an attack on the embassy would have noticed them too)

I understand the enemy of our enemy is not our friend, but the Kurds from my very limited knowledge seem like a really good friend

I would hope so, and would assume the converse.

I remember some stuff I saw on the military channel about espionage secrets and there's ways to design embassies so that surveillance is very difficult (no one outside can hear conversations that take place inside, where as the opposite could be done so that even whispers could be heard clearly from a great distance). That being said, electronic communications outside of the country should be surveilled and protected as much as possible by both sides.

lol there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that trump will pardon himself. I am less sure that he will pardon his cronies tho. he may just hang them out to dry, not out of malevolence or political or legal strategy, but simply bc he doesnt care about them.
