I didn't think Vulture was an ACist. Assumed he was just a conservative and very pro military, not that this necessarily discounts him being a ACist..

Taso,
You seem big up on your guitar and blues etc.... you a fan of John Martyn? I got into this guy recently and his guitar skillz really blow me away.

This doc which is very good btw, features Karl Hess- the coolest ACist to have graced this earth. I love the guy- and I'm no Acist.

Wow, buncha bearded hippies and 70's music imo. Seems like a good time piece, but I only made it about 10m in though.

Oh, looks like they go on a big gay road trip and interview normal people - thank god. I thought it was just going to be clips from "Anarchist" meetings in the 70's. Maybe I'll watch the rest later.

I def enjoy the looks of modern day Anarcho-Capitalists - we have excellent costumes and blend right in! Yes, sir, government, sir!

Only thing I will say is that Emma Goldman was Russian- not an 'American' anarchist. There is a Karl Hess short-doc on google videos which won an Oscar.

Though I wouldn't call that blues, more like folk, or country, he certainly is a good guitar player. But no, I hadn't heard him before I clicked the link :P Sounds good, though.

edit: I think wookie is much bigger blues/music expert than me, though.

Yeah, i'm no guitarist but I believe he picks the guitar in a very unique style similar to the blues guitarists. I have more Hendrix/ Clapton albums than John Martyn but still, i've never been as blown away specifically by someones guitar playing as I have seeing the John Martyn videos. At least not since hearing Zappa for the first time, who by some, isn't even regarded as one of the great guitarists.

[ ] Blues

^Actually, that last concert really changed my music tastes. The Who is one of my favorite bands, discovered them watching that concert.

Fair enough, it isn't blues -but still good stuff.

What are some good blues these days? i only listen to the old stuff like hooker and the new stuff limited to Dr John (i know thats not new but hes still going). There was a dr john album for new orleans that was pretty awesome which had other blues artists on it.

the black keys do some decent stuff, from what little I've heard by them. The Derek Trucks band is great for a blues/jazz mix, really amazing stuff. In my opinion, most of the great blues music is being done live.

see, I would class The Black Keys as simply rock n roll. Rubber Factory is their best album mainly for the song "your'e the one" but their new album is good too but not as raw as their old ones. i was going to see them in london the other week but was in amsterdam so couldnt go.

havnt heard of The Derek Trucks band - will have to check them out.

I'm not an anarcho-capitalist, although Im sympathetic to many of their views. I am fairly conservative in the old liberal sense of the word. I think the best way to describe my political views is "pragmatist". I am pro-military, since a) I am in the military and b) I think countries such as ours need a strong standing military. I am not pro-adventurism when it comes to military affairs.

Ah, the orange looks mighty vibrant and gay in that light.

BTW, horrible, embarrassing joke of a joke of a joke pic of myself but, taken recently on vacay in Florida:

BTW, I'm very eager to see what happens to this thread in an hour. Do the powers that be lock it? If so, I hope the immortal last post in this thread isn't a fat version of me w a giant, goofy smile on my face in front of an oversized Alligator.

PS: black or brown crocs FTW. They go with everything. I actually considered picking up a white pair to wear with my seersucker, but decided to stick with the bucks.
