I turn 21 in a little less than a year, and am def getting a gun. Nobody in my family (at least I don't think) owns a gun. I live in Washington state and its a shall-issue state, pretty good gunlaws compared to when I was living in Jersey. Pretty noobish, only fired a gun 4 or 5 times, pretty informed on gun laws on paper. Gun vets, any advice?

Also would a .22 revolver be a good first? I probably won't CC until Ive been an owner for a while, but Seattle is pretty cool with CC. Probably move on, buy more after a while (assuming country doesn't collapse at the pace its at right now)

my dad brought me another 1911 out of the stash to replace the one that was stolen. my old one was a nickle plated pretty one with rosewood grips, this one is a plain black bone stock GI issue 1911. basically just like this

but with hogue grips (look the sameish but more rubbery)

and he brought me the old Stevens 311 he bought when he was 16

looks like this

but with much darker wood

the one I have actually looks a bit meaner than the one in the photo, it has some holster wear on it etc. not sure if it has bodies on it, if it does they were in vietnam or something. It has all its numbers etc.

has he committed any crime? according to the article (or to his lawyer, I'm unsure who was saying what) he purchased the firearms legally, and had a 60 day grace period to get a license or whatever for them. Apparently there's a limit on how many rounds you can own?

If you continue reading bonsa, that isn't the current law, nor was it the law. It was a proposed law that got no traction (someone said 15 years ago).
