thanks for that video NeBlis, will probably steal it soon.

also, put a $50 deposit (which is dumb because if i decide i don't want it the shop owner will just give it back to me) on a .22 mp5 with a collapsible stock. was having some fun plinking with it and figured the ak47 needs a brother. lol plus will be a lot cheaper to plink targets outside when the weather gets nice...

now that i'm thinking about it, how hard is it to get into doing your own rounds?

Intial start up cost is biggest part. Need to reload tons to justify the start up cost.

Especially with .22s, they're so dirt cheap that the margins you may get from reloading are amazing, you'd have to fire a ton of rounds to make equipment break even. It does seem like a fun thing to do though.

No.

It's the equivalent of watching paint dry. In a dentists office. Without a magazine or a smart phone.

Don't you tread on me, trying to tell ME what I THINK is FUN or NOT?!
03-26-2012 , 11:13 PM
Well if my scenario amuses you I strongly suggest you take up ammo reloading and live donkament poker
03-26-2012 , 11:25 PM
I meant more like it would be a fun thing to do learn/understand something new, not necessarily doing it with ridiculous frequency or anything.

cool! you should also find out what else he has and see if you can do some father and son range trips. I'm guessing he wants to divide the other guns among siblings or other family? No reason you can't make sure they are working well for them

If you are unsure about shooting or need some resources for how to learn just let me know. Be safe and take it slow, take advice, don't get embarrassed or hard headed about things. You'll have fun.

Well it really only makes sense for expensive ammo like match grade rifle stuff, .375 sig, 10mm etc. For things like 9mm or 7.62 good factory reloads or surplus are so cheap that you may be only saving pennies a round if that. If your not into beach coming for brass at the range then your wasting $ buying casings. By the time you factor in time then your likely loosing money.

If you are shooting and reloading expensive ammo then you can add on the cheap stuff and do ok on cost.

Different strokes, some people love knitting or sodoku or watching golf. I think allot of the value in reloading to the people that do it is that it is a calm methodical thing.

That is the most insanely idiotic thing I've seen in weeks. I'd build that **** for cost.
03-27-2012 , 01:48 AM
zikzak what would you charge to build character?
03-27-2012 , 02:01 AM

Just to continue the reloading discussion. I shoot a 10mm and was considering learning to reload and buying the equipmen, but I found some factory FMJ reloads for 50 cents per round.

I think I can get that down to 25 cents per round reloading so I'd have to load 4000 rounds just to break even on the equipment (~$1000 for a multi stage + accessories). I don't get to shoot that often so 4000 rounds would take me prob 4 years to shoot.

OK that is awesome!

I did a stage where they had you on a platform sort of like that boat rig to simulate being on a subway train but it didn't move that much.

Here is a video of the match I shot this weekend. I haven't watched the whole thing but I don't think I'm in it.

Anyone have any experience with this model? I have the chance to buy it for half the price listed here.

It's unquestionably reliable and easily concealable. Perfect for all day carry.

That's the pros.

Cons:
That things gonna suck to train with.

You fire 150 rounds through that thing at the range and you'll feel like you just took an ass kicking.
