Re: *** Politics Gun Owners Thread***

I told you guys about the XD 9mm sub-c I picked up not too long ago... well I just made a deal yesterday and got rid of my Springfield 1911-A1 (w/night sights). Traded that for a ~5month old .45 XD.

Story behind it.. My buddy calls me last night and says, "How much do you want for that 1911?" I ask him who is asking. He tells me he ran across a guy who wants to trade a S&W M&P AR-15 for a select pistols+cash. 1911 was on his list. I tell my buddy I want to get as close as I can to be able to buy the .45 XD. He says, "How about this, I give you the XD for your 1911." Snap call. He takes the 1911+$300 and ships a dressed up AR-15 with extra mags and a few rounds.

I got what I wanted, my buddy got his, and the guy now has about tree fiddy 1911's or w/e.. and happy.

As an aside, in the interest of full disclosure, I do have a financial interest in the "Store" section of that website, but earn no free pennies by you clicking the link.

I'm no gun expert, but this seems like an implausible story.

http://blog.chron.com/newswatch/2012...woman-is-shot/

Quote:
A 24-year-old woman was killed in an accidental shooting when her brother dropped the gun he was carrying in south Houston on Saturday evening, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at a home in the 4600 block of Kingsbury. The woman’s brother was carrying a semi-automatic handgun into the house and was near the doorway when the pistol slipped out of its holster, Houston Police Department Homicide investigator Bart Oxspring said.

When the gun hit the ground, it discharged one time, striking the man’s sister, who was standing outside a few feet away, in the face, Oxspring said.

Re: *** Politics Gun Owners Thread***

It's highly unlikely, but entirely possible with a cheap ass gun and a worn out cheap holster.

Re: *** Politics Gun Owners Thread***

the cops can tell if that story is true.

they'll look for gun powder residue on his sleeves, they'll look at where the bullet came from, etc. if it's not true they can figure it out. at least according to all the cop movies i've seen.

Re: *** Politics Gun Owners Thread***

ummm yeah IM trying to think of any semi auto pistols that are not drop safe... unless it was say a 1911 without the thumbsafety engaged or maybe some of the super cheap **** like a Jimenez.

more like he dropped it and tried to catch it,and pulled the trigger, or he flat out shot her on purpose.

ETA: some will fire if they land straight on the muzzle... but that would make it shoot into the ground.

My dad dropped his 1911 on a chair and put a bullet through the floor. Moral of the story, don't be an ******* and drop loaded guns.
