specifically, which members of the criminal conspiracy involving president donald trump will he pardon? and who will pardon donald trump?

I voted the last two since I believe he will be forced to re-sign and then attempt to pardon himself first before he will be allowed to start pardoning the others (I give it <365 days from now before he has to re-sign)

Doesn't Pecker have immunity? Don't see how he needs a pardon.

May as well lock this now

If Trump pardons Manafort before Mueller concludes his investigation, I think it significantly increases the chances of impeachment if the Democrats take the House.

Not sure how much Trump cares about being impeached.

All of them.

even with immunity for some cohen matters, the loyal thing to do would be to stonewall investigators and if he does that, the reward should be a pardon. if he's loyal.

He’ll pardon everyone except for the dirty dirty flippers.

The correct answer is everyone. He is going to pardon everyone.

Manafort's deal reins in a pardon's impact
Two new factors appear to stymie the impact of a potential Trump pardon for Manafort.

The first is that Manafort is already talking. One obvious rationale for a pardon would be to reward Manafort for holding out against Mueller’s pressure for cooperation in building a case against the president or those close to him. But Manafort’s lead lawyer said Friday his client has already cooperated with Mueller’s team, and Friday’s plea agreement says that Manafort "shall cooperate fully, truthfully, completely and forthrightly with the Government and other law enforcement authorities identified by the Government in any and all matters to which the Government deems the cooperation relevant.”

Even if Trump might have hoped to stop Manafort from singing, Friday’s plea suggests he has already reached the first chorus.

...

Second, Mueller managed to get concessions from Manafort that limit the value of any pardon. Manafort admitted guilt on virtually all of the charges he faced in both Washington, D.C., and Virginia, including a slew of bank fraud charges. Each of those admissions could give state or local prosecutors a potential charge against Manafort that would survive even in the event of a Trump pardon, since he can pardon only federal offenses.

"By admitting to all of the facts in both indictments, the conviction is pardon proof in the sense that if Trump ever pardoned Manafort, a state attorney general could take Manafort’s admissions in the plea and use them to indict Manafort for state charges," former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman said.

The steps Mueller's lawyers have taken mean a pardon won’t likely be a particularly effective way of discouraging Manafort from offering Mueller whatever Manafort has that might be incriminating toward Trump, Trump Jr., Kushner or others.

However, if Trump wants to pardon out of mercy or spite, he will still have the power to do so. Such a move could immediately trigger Manafort’s release from jail and relieve him of the duty to turn over tens of millions of dollars in property and bank accounts to the government. State authorities may catch up with Manafort, but precisely how that will play out is uncertain.

State sovereignty working in our favor for once.

Now, imagine Trump's impotent rage as someone explains to him he can't pardon "his" people for state charges.

That thought brought a smile to my face.

I don't think Trump will resign. It's just not his MO. He historically takes his companies all the way to the grave while looting them.

He won't resign on principle. He might resign in order to avoid being impeached, but he's probably too deluded. I can imagine him agreeing to resign in return for either a promise of a pardon or cash payment. Not sure how the second works but perhaps there's a campaign finance workaround where GOP donors can refund the money Orange spent on his own campaign in return for a resignation. Or agreeing not to stand again.

Hell, give him $10 for every US citizen. Money well spent to get his ass out of here.

He may be stupid enough to turn down a complete immunity deal but he would probably be even more stupid to resign for anything else as it's too likely to be his short cut to prison.

I'll guess at the outside chance of a big fat zero on pardoning this lot. He isn't even the sort of **** who his 'friends' can rely on. Thy're all losers and flippers to be discarded or have a pardon dangling until it's too late.

There's almost zero chance TRUMP himself ends up in prison (Junior, Eric, Kush, I could see ending up there, though). I'll be up for prop bets for anyone who thinks thats going to happen.
09-16-2018 , 10:04 AM
Agent Orange isn't going to prison. Maybe one of his underlings serves a token sentence in a minimum security resort but otherwise that's it.

Trump definitely gets the Nixon treatment if he decides to resign. Pence jumps in, immediately pardons Trump to keep the deplorables happy and the machine rumbles on.
09-16-2018 , 10:17 AM
Can you imagine the grift TRUMP will be running once he's out of office? Deplorables will be lining up to give him their money.
09-16-2018 , 10:42 AM
I think Gollum dies in office. I don't ever see him giving up the presidency even if loses the 2020 election or in 2024 when his 2nd term is up.

I doubt he will go to jail over Russia/election issues but so much dodgy activity about his business is likely to be revealed as the domino's fall - that wont be 'nixoned' away will it?

Don't think it's suitable for a bet as he is old and still president. At best there's only a smallish gap when he might go to prison.
09-17-2018 , 08:46 AM
The President of the United States is not going to prison. I mean, I'd love to see it, but it's not going to happen.

Changing my vote to Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

(lol, jk; he’s never getting charged with anything)

Heard some rumors that he is considering a pardon for the Green Goblin.
