My father was fine one day, and diagnosed with brain cancer the next. He was dead within 4 months. Brain cancer is the ****ing woat.

Waiting for Trump to say he likes Senators who don't get cancer.

Sad, and also disturbing since I'm a Democrat and the fate of the whole country seems to be hanging on whether or not he and a handful of other GOP Senators who value country over party will stand up to the executive branch.

All he is going to do is vote to repeal the ACA if he gets the chance. Then he'll retire. Lol at thinking this particular GOP clown will show any balls going against the orange overlord. On his deathbed he will reflect how deeply concerned he is about Trump's behavior in office.

who is going to replace him in the senate?
07-19-2017 , 09:15 PM
As best as I can tell the Arizona gov gets to appoint a temp replacement until the next statewide general election (Nov 2018). The good news is another red seat will be up for grabs for the midterm.

Oh my, this from Monday.

A thread I started calling the '08 Presidential race the best matchup since Jefferson v Adams. In 2006.

I really wanted McCain to win the primary in 2000, and I still wistfully dream of an alternate future where it happened.

Yeah, McCain definitely isn't my guy, but he's still better than most.

We don't need to stoop to Trump's level.

Arizona Sen. John McCain refused to apologize yesterday for his use of a racial slur to condemn the North Vietnamese prison guards who tortured and held him captive during the war.

"I hate the gooks," McCain said yesterday in response to a question from reporters aboard his campaign bus. "I will hate them as long as I live."

Take the rag away from your face. Now ain't the time for your tears.

If I'm not mistaken, McCain helped pursue normalization of relations with Vietnam, which I recently saw has one of the most favorable approval ratings toward the US.

I guess he has like g-word privileges then, carry on so.

McCain is as complicated as anybody I guess. I didn't vote for him and in the few cases I agreed with his stances he disappointed me. This news still makes me sad.

The GOP governor of AZ asked McCain and Flake to vote no on the Senate health bill because of the loss of Medicaid funding. If it comes to it, I hope he picks a replacement that will vote in a way consistent with that.

I hope he stays in the senate and goes off on Trump every chance he gets. Terrible diagnosis and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. As a minimal silver lining perhaps it'll allow him to speak his mind more and call out people on their bull****.
