Are you sure it would be street value? Then again, it's gotta be nearly impossible since every gold medal could have vastly different values depending on event and who won it.

yeah, obviously collectors would pay more for a phelps medal than for some random malaysian badminton medal.

On the other hand, is there any way to authenticate a medal? Do the recipients get some sort of papers? IIRC the medals themselves are all identical, they don't have "100m hurdles" or whatever engraved on them anywhere.

Re: Olympics politcal events thread

Okay guys listen up, my inside line on the Illuminati tells me that a big 9/11 type event will occur at the Olympics this year. The London Emergency numbers are 999 and 112. So if I had to make a prediction, the date of the event will be 9/1/12 to fulfill their occultic numerology obsessions. This event will have us one step closer to their goal of a global microchipped population, for our safety of course. Tell your friends you heard it here first.

The fact that this was reported first by private eye is a pretty huge cause for concern....

I have a friend who collects Olympic medals, and although I'm not sure how, he certainly is able to know which medal it was, or at least what sport/event it was from. He had a 1992 Dream Team medal a while back, and that sold for a pretty penny.
