The timing has a lot to do with the release of Marco Rubio's book, The American Son, which is coming out next week.
Rubio has been having success building bipartisan support for Dream-lite legislation.
Since he'll be all over the news shows promoting it, it will bring a lot of focus to those efforts.
The Obama campaign doesn't want bipartisan support for an immigration bill. They want Obama to get all the credit.
if not a level then the worst form of partisan blinders in a while. Rubio is a junior senator, who has more skeletons in his closet than Obama did. His seat may not even be safe too.
As for the book deal, look for it to be a Palin style release, by the numbers a best seller, but the copies will be warehoused and given as teaser gifts
for subscriptions to mags and newsletters. The GOP ptb aren't into young-uns wanting a seat at the table. If the Kochs are able to realign the party and gain control of it (it is conceivable), he isn't their choice of leader either.
