A doctor and his family were one of the families I stayed with in Cuba. He and his wife were effusive in their praise of Castro and Che Guevara. And this from an intelligent, highly qualified person earning $10/month (c. 2000).

Says a lot about his communist austere mentality that he named more than one son after Alexander the Great.

dude you are just embarrassing yourself. it wouldnt be hard for me to prove that my story is extremely credible.

not to mention the fact that my story is also consistent with accepted facts. here is documentation for the cuba-bolivia relations. do i need to give you documentation also for the fact that sometimes cubans defect?

The title not including so bothers me. The (not so) tragic death.

Yeah I'm finding that unreasonably annoying as well.

There's a thread for that.

this is the part where the conspiracy theory nuts start claiming he's still alive, instead of already dead

If only this happened decades ago Cuba wouldn't have to be stuck in time and make their people suffer just because of rotten idealogues.

It will be interesting to see what international notables go to the funeral.

According to his reaction, Putin might come:
Quote:
“This strong and wise man always looked with confidence to the future,” wrote Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the long-standing relationship between the two countries. “He embodied high ideals of a politician, citizen and patriot, was sincerely convinced of the rightness of the cause, to which he gave his whole life. His memory will live forever in the hearts of Russian citizens.”

I have never seen you make any post of substance ever. All you do is parrot the Alt-White Nationalist and Limbaugh crowds.

Think they had permission to speak honestly to you?

The Miami Herald obituary is the one to read.

I had thought that the Elian Gonzalez saga was during W's term. Now I'm surprised no one has written the 'Elian Gonzalez cost Hillary Florida' hottake yet.

I wrote about Elian before the election. Janet Reno died on the 6th. Seeing her name in the papers was probably a nice reminder of Elian for the Miami Cubans. It didn't ultimately hurt Hilldawg much if at all. The results of HRC/Trump in Miami-Dade were basically the same as Obama/Romney.
