Since we're doing a world tour, another honorable mention for disgusting displays of anti-gay violence: the Pride parade in Istanbul was violently disbanded by the Turkish government with rubber bullets and water cannons in the end of June. One parade-goer may lose an eye after being hit with a rubber bullet. Apparently, the reason for the government's disapproval of this year's march had something to do with the parade coinciding with the month of Ramadan.

I wouldn't have expected you to mention that one though because, as we all know, if it's not an opportunity to bash the state of Israel, it probably isn't of much interest to you.

Post was relevant to this thread. I've no problem that it is just a few Jewish folk that seem to take issue with my post. The same few Jewish folk that don't GAF about making BAD MUSLIMS posts all over the place like mentioning Istanbul gay pride parade for instance (obv ignoring the OP because it was ridiculous).

Your post wasn't relevant, it just seems that way to you because you're a bit obsessive and hateful when it comes to Jews and Israel and you thought you found a new outlet to whine about them.

If a conversation is not about Israel, you'll find a way to drag them into the conversation (as long as there's a negative association to be made). Of course in the I/P thread if there's mention made of any other country in the world, or any sort of comparisons, you'd be one of the first to pull the "omg, this is the Israel thread, no other country! Go talk about other countries in some other thread!".

The point of the OP and thread was not about the parade changing routes or muslim's reaction to it. As stated in both articles, many parades across Europe have been attacked and subsequently forced to change routes, but that's not particularly interesting or even newsworthy.

The point of the OP was to point out the hypocrisy of morons who play identity politics and hold it above all else, rather than using universal standards for all people.

The irony here is the the jerusalem pride parade (in general, not this year's stabbing) is totally analogous to what happened in Sweden. Of course when the plan is to go through a muslim majority neighbourhood it's racist or intentionally trolling muslims. But when the parade is planned through religious jewish neighbourhoods in their most holy city the same people are totally quiet.

Every year the orthodox jews come out against the jerusalem parade and no one even considers capitulating to them (and rightly so). But i have yet to see some leftist organization come out against being so intentionally antagonistic towards religious jews in jerusalem.

I just can't accept how having a parade near a muslim's home is racist or instigating or trolling and a generally ****ty thing to do, yet forcing a christian baker to bake you a cake for your gay wedding is heroic and standing up to hate and bigotry
