Re: Mitt Romney's "Catch 22" Tax Return Dilemma

But if she went postal on Mitt then that clip is hilarious about how Coulter just spouts off...

I'm pretty sure the correct play for conservative pundits is to sprinkle just enough Romney slams around so they can point back and say "I told you so" if he gets shellacked.

I haven't seen the full interview, but from what little I did see, it sounds like she went beyond "postal" - she exploded the verbal equivalent of an atomic bomb. Supposedly, if I heard her correctly, she said Republicans shouldn't even bother going down to Tampa to formally nominate Romney because "he's already lost" - or words to that effect. Even more deadly, she said something to the effect that people shouldn't give another dime to Mitt Romney because they would just be giving money to a loser. She really stripped the bark off the tree.

It will be interesting seeing what kind of reaction (if any) the Romney camp has to this broadside. (I wouldn't be surprised if Mitt has sent a message to Whitey Bulger promising to pardon him if he can arrange for Ms. Coulter to have a sudden and fatal "accident". Ha! Ha!)

I don't have the Fox News Channel on my cable, so I didn't see this live, but Ann Coulter apparently just "went nuclear" on Mitt Romney on Shaun Hannity's program. (I saw a brief excerpt of Coulter's dipped-in-acid remarks rebroadcast on MSNBC.) She didn't hold back - she really unloaded on Mitt Romney. (One can be forgiven for having the impression that Ms. Coulter really doesn't like Mitt Romney. The feeling is probably mutual.)

I was wrong - the long knives are already coming out. If somebody has the video of Coulter's on-air interview with Hannity, please post it.
I think she just got mad about someone he hired, and thinks that person needs to be fired, and if Romney doesn't fire her, Ann doesn't know why she supports Mitt.

It's kinda like, whatever. Like she wouldn't support Mitt even if he said something like, "I am flat out against women being conservatives," or something.

Also, by now, who doesn't know that Romney had a similar healthcare package in Mass. Does everyone think he was just going to "not talk about it," throughout the campaign, or that it wouldn't be brought up.

If Mitt SERIOUSLY thought that is healthcare plan in Mass was going to be ignored throughout this campaign, and he wouldn't have to talk about it, then he's the moron, and so is Ann Coulter.

You should have tuned in to the Republican primary. Plenty of discussion of Romneycare/Obamacare.

Here's another link to the interview. Fun watching Hannity try and keep Coulter from breaking ranks by throwing in phrases like THE PRESIDENT IS THE ARCHITECT OF THE UGLIEST CAMPAIGN IN MODERN POLITICAL HISTORY!!!1

Pretty reasonable...except for the fact that they both believe Frothy and Bachmann would make a good president. Thats just downright laughable.

Re: Mitt Romney's "Catch 22" Tax Return Dilemma

Semi-grunching, so forgive me if this has already been discussed, but isn't the biggest fail of all the simple fact that Romney seems so ill-prepared to address the tax issue... I mean, even if you didn't plan on releasing your returns, wouldn't you spend some time figuring out a good response when people ask you why you aren't releasing them, especially when:

- your Dad basically set the gold standard wrt disclosure by Presidential candidates.

And, probably more importantly, tax returns have been an issue in almost all of your previous campaigns. - -- You refused to release them when running against Ted Kennedy for the Senate (supposedly because he hadn't released his).
- You refused to release them in a gubernatorial race (again, supposedly because your opponent had not yet fully disclosed, even though she had released her returns but was refusing to show her husband's returns)
- You were almost kicked off the ballot in one of your gubernatorial races because MA requires continuous residency and you had filed as a Utah resident for a period of time while you were working on the Olympic bid.

I could forgive being blindsided by this issue if this was the first time it had come up, but when something has come up so frequently in so many different campaigns, failing to handle it effectively when the issue surfaces again is pure incompetence, imo.
