There is a local casino commercial that is implying that splitting 10s is bad, is this true?

To avoid the draconian locks that John Deere puts on the tractors they buy, farmers throughout America's heartland have started hacking their equipment with firmware that's cracked in Eastern Europe and traded on invite-only, paid online forums.

Tractor hacking is growing increasingly popular because John Deere and other manufacturers have made it impossible to perform "unauthorized" repair on farm equipment, which farmers see as an attack on their sovereignty and quite possibly an existential threat to their livelihood if their tractor breaks at an inopportune time.

Cool article. It's kinda like "the Clive Bundy crew meets technology", as the same sort of problem (hardware manufacturers asserting more control over the hardware they make even after you buy it) has been happening for awhile now, especially with anything that plays digital media (video game consoles, blu-ray players, smartphones). The idea that you can't mess with equipment you buy after buying it is a grating one.

I'm almost more upset that they're selling cracks. That's offensive.

Because all of her opinions are selfish, reactionary bull****?

Probably the fact that 90 percent of her twitter posts were #popthatp before she decided to find god

No opinion on whether she's had an abortion or not, but in what universe is someone's instagram an accurate reflection of their real persona?

One of the interesting things about the right is that they continuously churn out ever new reactionaries just saying the same old stuff. The right-wing media complex is like the EA Sports of political products. The same game year after year after year just with roster changes.

I admit I don't really follow Tomi Lahren or know where she came from (apparently she got popular on the YouToobz get off my lawn play ball at the park my car is RIGHT THERE). And I guess I've aged out of the demographic where celebrities make their names on YouTube. But it is a little strange to me these right-wing reactionaries are produced en masse like this and the market absorbs them. I mean I've always known the market for this was expansive but how the **** do any of these people differentiate themselves? At first you might be like, well Tomi Lahren has lady parts and is blonde white lady but isn't that like Megyn Kelly, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingrham, all those other leggy blonde white ladies on Fox?

Let me help you. Tomi Lahren is Megyn Kelly's looks combined with Laura Ingrham's bitchiness - for the crowd that isn't wearing Depends full time yet - although sharting is becoming alarmingly more frequent.

Ann Coulter is a man. Different category.

I mean I guess I'll be the glib misogynist dick here and assume the worst about everyone but I just casually assumed the army of FNC blonde ladies were just around to keep the old guys titillated who don't know how to use computers and find internet porn. But surely the generation of guys fapping to Tomi know how to find it. As Dr Modern rightly points out, a quick review of her political opinions reveals a boring, vapid right-winger dime store reactionary. If you took a blind test you couldn't differentiate her from hundreds of others.

So I still find it curious the right is creating new models of the "platinum blond right-winger" products, seemingly cultivated for a generation that can find and fap to actual naked ladies with ~no effort.

Not true about your post but definitely true about suzzer's post.

Snowden's lawyers just obtained his hotel records from that time showing he was indeed at the Mira Hotel. For a less GG-infused take, Charlie Savage notes here that his earlier criticism of Epstein's shoddy attempt at journalism has been vindicated.

The reactions of the few people involved that have responded are amusing:

His appearance on Pod Save The World about Snowden was pretty good. Thought it was going to be a bunch of ad hominem attacks and the like before listening to it but it was cool.

Re: Tomi Lahren

One of my best friends/roommates was a huge Tomi fan like 3 years ago or so. He use to play her videos, so I would overheard what she was talking about. I don't remember her being as inflammatory/over-the-top when she got started. TBH, thought she was actually kind of reasonable and not like the std Hannity/Beck. (Circa 2014 I think, maybe early 15)

I have no proof for this, but I imagine once she got hired at Blaze, they told her what her persona could be/how famous she could be, so she started adapting the screaming and yelling at millenials and "snowflakes". I really despise all the right wing tv guys, but I will say that they are good at theatrics and entertaining tv. It's like Trump, really no substance, but you walk away feeling hyped up like its high school football pre-game speech. Lahren got really good at that and dropped any substance in her segments (not that there was tons to begin with)

edit: She use to do like 30 minute shows I think. (Maybe still does?) Not just the 2 minute segments yelling at beyonce or whatever. I have no idea if she still does that, but all i see on FB are the shorter clips.

I didn't appreciate that -- the market for a millennial that embraces all of the political tics of olds. So yelling about participation trophies and snowflakes and safe spaces. Typical "face turn" character for this sort of thing. The right also has their go-to black guys, reformed liberals, reformed hippies, gays, etc. that they can count on for the 'insider perspective' on everything wrong with their political enemies.

Thing is, there's a limited shelf life for leggy Fox blondes, so there's always a spot for a newer model white lady to get into the rotation. It's not like with the menfolk like Rush or O'Reiky who can do their thing for years. Ann Coulter has been relegated to D-list for years, Laura is clearly on her way out as well, and Kelly/Carlson got tired of getting groped by Roger Ailes, so there are several openings out there.

Plus, I figure you have Fox + Fox Business + The Blaze + a few other media outlets which run 24/7 that all have to have 1-2 blondes for three shifts, that's a big market for leggy blondes.

Agree it's hard to differentiate yourself and stand out in that field. You gotta have an angle. Coulter sort of stood out as the deliberate troll, Inghram was maybe the smart one, and Kelly was the one who beefed with Trump. Maybe being the Fox blonde who's down with abortion is a way to get people to remember you. Otherwise, I can't imagine any of them make the big TV bucks.

LOL, where did you find this pic of me?

I'm suggesting that, in Tomi's case, there's no there there. The curated, superficial internet presence--I believe the preferred epithet is "white supremacist Barbie"--is all there is to Tomi. She's the same way in interviews that she is on her show. She's a literal embodiment of a certain brand of right-wing fury. I basically was just suggesting that posters might enjoy looking at her Instagram if they want to get a sense of what "a completely fake person trying to appear candid" looks like. Spoiler: She has a small dog and wears a lot of yoga pants.

When it comes time to write the grand unifying theory of the right wing grifter/anger bear ecosystem the rabid embracing of "Uncle Tomesque" (in quotes because it's too strong a phrase) figures will be it's own section. I think it's because they come with a built in (unspoken) hypocrisy. Even if they are sincere in their beliefs which some undoubtedly are the rights obsession with identity confers the hypocrisy onto them.

one of the things ive learned the last couple years is that the louis ck bit about how it's great to be a white man and there's nothing you can say to hurt my feelings really isnt true. i feel that way too, but there are a lot young white guys (mostly) out there that feel vulnerable and under attack. and they're incredibly reactionary, anti-feminist, anti-political correctness, anti-immigration, anti-anything they feel will lower their status.
03-22-2017 , 09:59 AM
also the rest might just be acting for $$$, but coulter is a genuine white supremacist very deliberately and sinisterly pushing lines to mainstream racism.

she's selling books, but she's genuinely a true believer of some very dark things.

i feel like you see that same distinction here/88 between the normal dumb reactionary bigots and the darker clever ones very deliberately pushing the line to see what they can get away with.
