if obamacare works out, i think obama will go down as one of the greatest presidents. bin laden dead, out of iraq, out of afghanistan, kept the homeland safe, iran halts nuclear program and closed society agrees to inspections, gay rights...at some point results matter.

and the result of bush was economic depression, wars, and misery.
Tried to keep us in Iraq, Not out of Afghanistan, NSA spying, Still tried to put sanctions on Iran after a deal was made, tried to act cool by saying he was for gay rights for votes, drone strikes, torture, bombed Libya and Somalia....
Ya, I'm gonna go with he will never be received as one of the greatest presidents of all time.

Yeah, take your pick: Would you rather have a vengeful little pig misappropriating government resources into petty squabbles or a guy victimized by his own staff and also sweets.

Don't forget complete deference to the financial sector, the ongoing attempts at SOPA and the TPP, and increased government secrecy including prosecution of journalists and whistle blowers. Obama is perhaps the worst president we have ever had and I am a liberal saying that after living through wbush. Not many presidents have had the opportunity to be as bad as Obama but he has certainly stepped up to the plate. We are at a crossroads on several fronts. Things going on now are going to set the tone for the world far into the future. And what does he do but acquiesce to power at every single opportunity? It's literally like he is a puppet.

If Obamacare works as planned is that enough to be considered top dozen? My guess he is considered to be a second quartile President.
In the very long run, presidents usually don't get much recognition for economic improvements, so I don't think Obamacare, if it works, will push him into greatness.

loooooooooooooooooooooooool

Hey, seattle, remember when you voted to re-elect the guy who started both of those wars? And now it's Obama's fault that we lost them, even though we haven't "lost" them yet, and certainly nobody blames Nixon for "losing Vietnam"?

Hey, seattle, remember when you thought Obama wasn't going to mention Obamacare in his re-election campaign?

Hey, seattle, remember when you were SURE Benghazi was a scandal?

Keep on reading Drudge, man, he sure keeps you UP TO DATE on all the news.

Really impossible to blame bridghazi on Obama, but it's a completely LOL predictable he would be mentioned ITT. That's how they roll.

Why do people still think there are only two choices in elections? You don't have to vote D or R. And can you please tell me why Obama>Bush? ACLU just named Obama worst president EVER for civil liberties

The NJ Supreme Court drama, which is it's own sideshow of lols.... now that has some stronger elements to suggest motive and the coincidence of timing is not easily dimissed.

I heard from a source that Obama is the one who put the cones out.

No governor had ever failed to reappoint a sitting state Supreme Court justice, but Christie had suddenly done it twice – once for the court’s only African-American jurist, infuriating Democrats, and then again for a justice he actually liked. The governor, enraged, held a press conference to tell reporters, “I was not going to let her loose to the animals.”

The “animals,” in this case, were the Democrats in the state Senate.

Christie said that on the afternoon of Aug. 12, 2013.

On the morning of Aug. 13, 2013, Christie’s deputy chief of staff told the governor’s guy at the Port Authority, “Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.”

The leader of the Senate Democrats at the time was a senator from … Fort Lee.

C'mon Ike was very well known so the TV thing doesn't matter in my view. Being a war hero trumped his looks I'll concede readily. Also Dems had come off of a 20 year stretch as POTUS which played into it.

Looks matter more in politics? Than what exactly? Hillary is really cute though so advantage Hillary I guess.

cliffs plz

the current "get him back for the endorsement" theory makes zero sense, I'm definitely open to alternatives

where did the assumption that this was about the mayor come from, anyway? Was he specifically mentioned in the emails (the excerpts I saw never mentioned anyone specifically that I remember)?

Because there isn't anything even remotely close to a viable 3rd party.

Yep, just like a couple of years ago any negative comments about Obama were met with BUSH BUSH BUSH. It goes both ways.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Feds will pressure the 'underlings' into testifying against Christie for a lesser charge? I mean He has threw them under the bus, so what do they have to lose? They will be charged with a crime and will definitely roll imo

Again, what crime? What is the crime they will be charged with?

I'm not a lawyer, but there has to be a law on the books for abusing your position at port authority or any state level office. Also one of the his 'underlings' may have lied under oath about the 'traffic study'.

When were they under oath? You seem pretty damn confident about a charge incoming when you have no idea what law was broken. Maybe there was a crime committed but it's not obvious.
01-10-2014 , 11:26 AM
I'm probably wrong about the 'under oath' part(I thought I heard that somewhere)
>shrug<

Sometimes all the Feds have to do is act like they are going to charge someone and they just roll over.
happens everyday

Yeah I think the looks angle is big with the media but most voters don't care. Why would Christie, an obese Repub in a blue state, win the governor's race in a landslide (and he was even fatter then) but all of a sudden he's too fat when he runs for Prez?

Personality is much more important than looks in national politics. Republicans especially want someone who seems "real". Added points for seeming "tough" and most especially "non-effeminate". I think before this whole scandal Christie had an excellent chance to be the nominee. Now, probably not. The whole thing is so strange, politicians are a weird bunch obv.
