David Wildstein, the guy that went to high school with Christie but was not cool enough to hang out with Christie, plead the fifth to every question asked by the state assembly panel.

its funny u posted this halperin quote right after my post because that is pretty much what i am trying to understand what christie seems to be saying here.

Anyone have any idea how big Christie's staff is? Like if you pick the ten guys closest to Christie are these guys there?

Bush lied, Obama lies, Christie lies. He will make as great a president as the last 2.
01-09-2014 , 04:09 PM
Christie will be twice the president that Bush or Obama was.

Spoiler:

initial claims for state unemployment benefits declined 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 330,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

gdp growth 4.1 last quarter. deficit falling at record pace. stock market record high. property values rebounding.

if obamacare works out, i think obama will go down as one of the greatest presidents. bin laden dead, out of iraq, out of afghanistan, kept the homeland safe, iran halts nuclear program and closed society agrees to inspections, gay rights...at some point results matter.

and the result of bush was economic depression, wars, and misery.

You've misread. I'm not saying anything different than anyone else is saying in here. The idea that Christie did not know anything is tenuous given the increasing reports that something wasn't right. You got tripped up because I proposed a counterfactual in which if he didn't know then he would be an inept manager, not because he didn't know anything about traffic studies, but because if an underling is accused of wrong doing and you are aware of the accusation you don't take their word for it, you ask for proof to CYA.

That's not anything different from how about every scandal goes. Either the manager knew and was complacent or they didn't and was inept.

Uh try that one again.

And LOL at 4.1 gdp last quarter. That was due to increasing inventories not increased real gdp. And the Iran thing is yet to be realized. If Iran is just using this as a stall tactic will Obama be one of the worst presidents? It could go either way.

No, I got "tripped up" because your GOTCHA evidence was a WSJ article that didn't prove anything you were leaning on it for.
01-09-2014 , 04:39 PM
If that helps you sleep at night.
01-09-2014 , 04:44 PM
Waited until after election.

Smart move.

Guilty.
01-09-2014 , 04:45 PM
ok dude

WSJ clearly scooped all the other news guys by three months.

Watching the presser now, wow so he's basically firing Toby Ziegler and Josh Lyman

edit: actually more like Josh Lyman and Bruno Gianelli

Lots of people will get fired on his staff. Will it cost hi m the nomination?

Morning Workout? Two donuts and a coffee
Unless there's a lot more to this... no it doesn't cost him the nomination. Plenty of other things could though.

Man remember when liberals were mocking the 'thrown under the bus' comments about Obama? Can we make that a full time any campaign thing or is that going to be one party only on this board?
01-09-2014 , 04:53 PM
this should rustle dems more than R's imo, because christie actually seemed like a republican with half a brain, so if he got nominated would kind of been a win/win.

granted if he actually knew about this thing then I have to retract the half a brain thing
01-09-2014 , 04:54 PM
idk Romney certainly had more than half a brain.
01-09-2014 , 04:55 PM
Christie is probably toast.

More so because the primaries are going to tear him completely apart. Conservatives already don't trust moderates and the fact Conservatives are coming out so strong against this looks like they were lying in wait for weakness and see this as a chance to pounce.

There is definitely a chance this becomes a bigger issue. There can be criminal investigations, and if that happens rut roh!

i dont disagree, I was more talking compared to all the tea party favorites

If the R's hadn't ruined Romney between him being governor and running for prez, I think he would have made a pretty good president
