Rush's hurricane survival guide: stop buying water and don't listen to the news.

So, apparently, Hurricane Irma is a liberal conspiracy. See, climatologists and the fake news media are playing up the potential danger of the hurricane in order to push their wacky "climate change is real" agenda.

My parents live in Amelia Island, Florida, on the north coast of the state, just below Savannah. Note the "island" part.

My Mom is battening down the hatches and planning on fleeing north to a friend's house in inland Georgia. However, the roads north are already almost at a standstill. But she's going. My sister and her family, who live in coastal SC, might also be packing up and going.

My Dad, however, is staying. If Rush says there's really no danger and he shouldn't bother stocking up on bottled water, by God, that's what he's going to do.

When you have a choice between believing scientists, the news, and ****ING RADAR MAPS - or Rush Limbaugh - it's obvious, no?

So my Dad is staying...and will be happily watching the US Open on TV while Irma safely and delicately passes overhead.

My question is...when my Dad's bloated, drowned body finally surfaces in a few days, can I sue Rush Limbaugh?

Just talked to my Dad and he said that 99% of the hurricane models on TV are incorrect. And that's all about the news media trying to get the silly idea of climate change being real across to the sheeple.

When I ask him who is telling him this is yelled something about the year 1900 and that I'm a ****ing liberal.

So, as you can imagine, I don't talk to him very much these days.

My Mom said she thinks he'll come with her in the morning, but who knows?

That's an interesting choice of years. I've read a couple books on how practical applications of science were integrated into regular life. One covered the conversion of medicine to science based. Another was about meteorology.

The original national weather service didn't have much use for science. They preferred not to make negative predictions. In 1900 there was a hurricane in the Gulf. It hit Cuba. The scientists there predicted it was heading to Texas. The US national weather service rejected the predictions entirely on the basis that Cubans were not white and therefore genetically incapable of science.

The hurricane hit Galveston, TX and killed at least 6000 people. They were not warned or prepared.

Dominic, I would seriously tell your Dad to do this if he is staying. As a precaution just in case the scientists and liberals got it right this one time. He might want to clean the bathtub first...

Let's say your dad stays, the hurricane models are correct, his house gets destroyed and he spends a few days in hospital banged up. What would he say? Would he admit he was incorrect?

Hope he gets out btw.

I cared a lot for my dad, but he was like this about some things. If he said it, I'd just say, "Alright, well, stay as safe as you can!" There was no talking him out of it.

Is Rush in the path? Is Rush riding it out? I hope so.
