I dont think there are english subtitles anywhere.

Great documentary imo, enlightening and often hilarious (sometimes at Macron's expense). The director said they let him film everything he wanted.
Cool thanks, signed up for TF1 to watch in France. I speak just enough French now to manage.

They filmed a lot more and they're discussing a series with Netflix. I'd happily watch hours of Macron trying to act normal in restaurants.

Documentary was very good. Small thing but really liked Macron's reaction to getting hit in the head with the egg. He couldn't stop giggling at the video of it. Could you imagine Trump's reaction in a similar situation?
Also, wonder if Valls had seen the bit where Macron calls him a traitor, before Valls decided to nominate himself as a candidate for En Marche in the upcoming legislative elections?!

so who's édouard philippe? he's ump/lr, but i guess not the most rightwing kind.

shocked to learn macron intends on running a right wing government

straight up balls of steel on this one. I wonder why he pronounced Russia Today like that tho, his english is great and he did it like Rafarin would've said it.

One thing I mostly enjoy about the French in general is how little effort often seems to be made to pronounce foreign words as native speakers would, and how content they are to stick with a French accent. I once got corrected by my French teacher on my pronunciation of 'hold-up', my excuse that, as a native English speaker, I was almost certainly pronouncing it fine meant nothing to her.

I am quite enjoying Macron as an international statesman so far, at least from a rhetoric point of view, we'll have to see what it all adds up to, though. I can't argue for the journalistic integrity of RT etc., obviously, but politicians deciding who's propaganda and who's true, and controlling access to information based on that isn't the best precedent in the world.

Thread needs a poll so we can vote on what method Putin will use to take out Macron.

Something a little stronger than information warfare in his case. This requires straight up state decapitation.

Score one more for reason and critical thinking. The most likely explanation continues to be that Macron campaign leaked their own non-defamatory stuff.
None of the bolded has been confirmed, sorry.

There's a small section in the beginning saying one French intelligence officer couldn't confirm for sure it was Russia because of the simplicity of the hacking. The rest is just paragraph after paragraph of Putin defending the Kremlin. Who's saying it was another country or France itself? Seems like you just made that up or got it from some conspiratorial site.

I even Googled for other sources. But maybe I suck at reading and internets, who knows...

Your response still doesn't confirm anything. It just has more words waving arms about my arm waving.

Lol Shuffle. Everyday he's shuffling.

Looks like we gonna talk a lot about Macron for the next 5 years. Any french here wants to create a Europe + China thread to discuss actual leaders of the free world? I'll provide the memes.
06-02-2017 , 03:24 PM
Gonna have to learn French just so I can keep up with the dank memes in the future. How do you say "Pepe" inFrench?
06-02-2017 , 03:30 PM
sorry to say it but we're just going back to ignoring france the next 5 years. this thread was mostly about hoping le pen didnt blow up europe.

i hope he does well though. he seems ruthless but smart.

Macron's party is now projected to win up to 2/3 of the seats in the legislative elections next 2 sundays...that's just astonishing, the party was founded 14 months ago!

The voting system totally plays into his party's hands, they will get about 30% in the 1st round, which is less than the new president's party usually gets, but will totally crush the 2nd round because they're so many voter's 2nd choice.

yup, this is DEMOCRACY. In France, the fith republic is built to say no to one party to avoid worst case scenario. Alliances are a major part of the system and this is why the far right won't win for a very long time.
