There are plenty of incredible beaches in the UK if you can time your visit so it coincides with the sun. OAFK's pic reminds me of the Gower Peninsular.

Well yea, apart from the six months it's well above that.

Obviously dont come here in February.

FWIW those are some of the highest ATs in the UK outside of urban heat traps.

Also that is one of our ugliest tourist trap beaches.

Never posting the locals only gold on interweb.

Personally, I enjoy wine tasting in Sonoma with family around Thanksgiving. If the weather's not so great that time of year though I might have to put on a sweater

This anecdote may have come up here before, but anyway I was watching a yt video that referred to this story about Kurt Gödel, the famous logician and mathematician

The water on the west coast is generally pretty cold and unless you're a surfer or a little kid you're generally not swimming unless it's a pretty hot day. Aside from being scenic the nice thing about being close to the water and it being cool water is the air temperature in SoCal near the ocean.

That said, I spend some time in 130 degree attics in the SF valley, so I get my fair share of being uncomfortable.

Minack open air theatre Porthcurno.

Which is also where the victorian interwebs was based, or geet big cable station.

During WW2 the beach at Porthcurno, which is stunning, had flame throwers secretly hidden on it and was one of the most heavily militarised beaches in the UK due to the cable station there, it's where the telegraph cables from USA and many other places came ashore.

I have to say, California is pretty damn awesome. They basically have their own tax system, which is better because it doesn't favor capital over labor and is quite progressive. They have their own environmental regulation system, and it works. The social safety net is wide and efficient. They are the most tolerant state in the union socially. **** if I could blame 'em for peacing out from USA #1

lol coasts. When trouble comes, nobody says "Run to the beach!" Inland hills are where it's at. And small, tasteful mountains. Not like those garish monstrosities out west. And no matter where you live, if you don't have primarily deciduous trees your climate is teh suck.

Second, I have a third interview next week (of four?!) and I don't know if I'm qualified for the job but they keep calling me back. If I get the job, I'd be making more than double the highest I've ever made in my life.
