Re: June life thread
What's up with douchebag dads coaching 8-year-old baseball?
OMFG I can't stand these guys.
I'm coaching third base last night. runners on 1st and 2nd. kid hits just over the infielders. I could have easily got both runners home (lol 8-year-olds can't throw worth a ****) but since we're up 14-3 I hold the 2nd base runner at third. Well the first base runner isn't watching me (which is standard), and rounds 2nd base and just keeps trucking. So I send the first kid home rather than make him turn around and go back to 2nd where he'd definitely be out.
coaches from the other team are like "OH MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT WHY'D YOU SEND HIM HOME???" These two guys ****ing moaned and whined the entire game.
jesus christ dude, stfu
(I've gotten a lot of comments from opposing coaches this year about running it up, which is stupid because A) most of the time I'm telling the kids one thing and they do another anyway B) I'm actually way too conservative when it comes to telling them what to do and C) there's a six-run-per-inning limit in this league anyway)
later a kid knocks the **** out of the ball. he's heading towards third and I can tell he's going to make it home before they even get the ball into the infield. This will be the kid's first homer of the season. at this point we're up like 18-5 or something. Now, should I really hold this kid at third because douchebag dad gets his feewings hurt? He's going to score either way, it's just a matter of whether he gets a triple or a homer.

Re: June life thread
Pvn- when little league coaches argue with the umps do they kick dirt up on the umps shoes?
Random thought:
Anyone had Nando's before? They started getting some in my area of late, and on my recent trip to South Africa I found out that they are actually a South African chain. How many foreign fast food chains can there be in the US?

Re: June life thread
So I just got offered acceptance from one of the schools that wait listed me(UF). This is awesome from the standpoint that they were my #1 choice of all the schools I applied to that I had a realistic shot of making it into. However, I had already gotten used to the idea of going to my #2 choice(FSU) and UF is asking for a decision by noon on Friday. UF's program is marginally better on paper, they are ranked 48 vs FSU which is ~51. UF is slightly cheaper, about 3K less a year, although there is some question as to how they calculated their CoA figures. FSU's environmental law program is ranked higher than uF's, but FSU recently lost their best env law professor, so their program will probably(?) suffer as a result. I went to UF for undergrad and really enjoy it there, but there is one factor in FSU's favor that I don't really know how to quantify. FSU is located in the state Capitol, so the access I would have to potential internships/jobs is likely greater than at UF which is in the middle of BFE. Additional factors for consideration: FSU has a way more attractive female population, although UF's isn't bad by any standard (even pointy elbow standard), FSU's football program is on the upswing whereas UF's seems to have gotten caught in an infinite loop of suck.
So, do any of you guys have any nuggets of wisdom you'd be willing to share that might assist in my decision making? This is for law school, btw.

Re: June life thread
Go where the jobs are, and where hiring firms will have the most connections. I'm not familiar with either law school so can't comment on their credentials.
My firm has 9 offices in Florida, so if you need help with a summer job next year let me know.
I would also not worry too much about what area of law you want to focus on. Most probably you will be doing something else, unless for some reason you don't like money.

Also don't know jack about those particular school, but 48 v. 51 is a negligible ranking difference. Try to get the best information you can on job prospects at each school, and calculate your debt loads. Those are the 2 big factors.

Nandos is pretty popular here in Britain, really tasty. Big fan of their peri peri sauces too, esp their ketchup.
There is always some dumbass who slathers extra hot all over their food then realises it is way hotter than they expected though

Thanks guys. I'm going with UF. Their network of allumni is extensive so job prospects should be good and I really love their facilities, they motivate me to study. I just need to make sure I make good grades now.
Brad, what type of work do you guys do?

Re: June life thread
So I went to a PGA event for the first time today.
Cliffnotes:
* John Daly is ****ing awesome, he has a huge entourage which all wear loudmouth pants/shorts/miniskirts
* Rory McIlroy is smaller than I expected
* surprising number of retarded former sorrority girls walking around a golf course in 3-inch heels, wtf is wrong with people?
* Jhonattan Vegas is freaking huge and ripped (and did not appreciate HAIL CHAVEZ, COMRADE catcalls from the gallery)
* really great day for fancy watch-spotting, tons of gold rolexes (including the first gold GMTIIc I've seen in the wild, jesus christ that thing is gaudy as hell)
