Re: June LC thread

I hear cabinet members also make enough money to put kids through college. Especially if you take into account the bribes you can take after you leave the office.

Oh, well in that case.

Or maybe the high court is packed full of Mubarak appointees who will do whatever the military tells them to do.

In the last century or so, there have been only two successful attacks on American soil (Pearl Harbor and 9/11). The fact that we've got a damn good military is a huge part of that imo.

In sympathy I am going on record and not accepting the Yankee starting shortstop position. I hate the Yankees.
But the Yankees would probably make great World Champions so everyone else should support them!

Nah I'm not one of those, but the fact that the U.S. military kicks ass keeps Americans at home much much safer from the prospect of war than many many other countries. People know that if they come after us, they'll get ****ed the hell up. That's been a powerful disincentive. You can argue that the secondary effects are bad or that it's not worth the cost or whatever, but the military has been very effective at keeping Americans safe over the last half century or so. No one but a fool denies this.

Still looks to be heavily government funded with the national government playing a large role.
yeah on the surface thats what it looks like. Yes it is mandated "UHC" but the system is completely decentralized and local. Perfect example of what I was talking about thanks.

the only thing we can agree to is that americans, in america, have been very safe from foreign threats. since the ****ing war of 1812.
