If only they would bring the game to my actual yard. I've got some space if we move some cows!

“We will not be sending troops back into combat in Iraq,” Obama said at a White House press conference. “But I have asked my security advisers to prepare a range of other options.”

"Obama sends up to 200 more troops to Iraq"

Wtf? Is this just simple open lies from Obama?

Well it could be that France's version of secularism, laïcité, is much more stridently anti-religious as it's set against the backdrop of the French Revolution against Catholicism and the European Union has more French secularists than Anglophile secularists.

Everybody just signs up thorough the website and most people don't show up to the seminar. I can see the people who convince upper management to go with aetna etc getting comission, but that seems totally different from explaining the 3 options to joe blow employee that he must take or turn down compensation.

heh, walked past a woman in Harlem today (in 90 degree heat and ridiculous humidity, no less) wearing the full niqab including covering her hands with gloves and thought about that French law and how absurd it was

I mean, blind squirrels do find nuts every now and then.

This is basically how my french teachers talked about the topic. It wasn't some part of a larger "we hate muslims" undercurrent. It was an "all people are equal and treating women differently is wrong" type of thing. They are, as you might guess, extremely pro-equality, some might say to the point of hilarity or extremism.

Another way of looking at it is that they are not so tolerant that they tolerate intolerance.

Wtf this can't be true. Can anyone confirm?

Wasn't this just the blatantly false excuse used by them. In reality it's just one of a long line of Islam oppressing moves in the country.

It never ceases to amuse that the number one defender of republicans on this forum is too ashamed to admit that he actually is a republican himself. Anyone want to take a stab at who i am talking about?

Just got the insurance shpeal at work from our agency's friendly Anthem representative.
Assuming the company uses an agent, then they'll get commission from sales, or some type of financial reward for increasing the customer base. If the person giving out information works for HR or something then obviously he/she wouldn't (I hope).

Don't get this either.

Also don't get why we don't just have one stickied LC thread like SE, why do we need a new one every month and why lock the old ones?

Did your French teachers have a lot of Muslim friends too?

LBJ is a civil rights hero.... and a racist

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/lyndon-jo...-rights-racism

An interesting look at the complexity of the time.

Also makes the point that if blacks voted Democrat because the government gave them things, should old people be Democrats?

Safe to say Obama will not go down in history as the great uniter.

It's a little early to think about the totality of history when Hillary is going to rocket past Obama in that poll in her first year.
07-02-2014 , 02:35 PM
Anybody would poll better than Obama

Quote:
Two years into President Barack Obama's second term, more voters say they are dissatisfied with his administration's handling of everything from the economy to foreign policy, giving him the worst marks of any modern U.S. president, a poll Wednesday said.

In a survey of 1,446 registered voters, 33 percent said Obama was the worst president since World War II, while 28 percent pointed to his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the worst, the poll by Quinnipiac University found.

"BREAKING: If you conduct a poll made up of 73 percent whites, 61 percent Midwesterners and Southerners, 66 percent non-college grads, 69 percent non-Democrats and 56 percent land-line users, you can get a Politico headline proclaiming Obama the worst president since World War II."

that being said, i don't know how unrepresentative that even is although i can't imagine a lot of young people using landlines
