Yeah but who watches stand-up and ponders the history behind the premise of a joke?
I'm only saying that you can't create separate rules for comedy based on perceived political ideology. If anything the great thing about stand-up is that you don't have those restrictions holding a person back from making jokes about whatever they want.
I haven't come across a right-wing comedian who is funny. It isn't because they're conservative. It's that they don't tell good jokes. Sometimes they don't tell jokes at all. Many times they just make politically charged statements that people laugh or cheer about if they agree with it instead of setting up a joke with a premise and punchline like an actual comic.
There's plenty of material to be made fun of. Just a matter of finding somebody who can work it into a show.
