If Obama Gets Term #2, Will He Grow a Pair?
I think the consensus on the left is that Obama's failures as a president are due to some combination of bad negotiating and total capitulation to a Republican opposition that is, at best, obstructionist. See, e.g., the budget, taxes, entitlement reform, etc.
But there are lots of issues where liberals are disappointed where Congress has nothing to do with it. War. Drones. Civil Liberties. Going after Pot. Letting his DOJ run wild with all sorts of highly questionable behavior. Endless free money for banks. The list goes on. Many on the left think it's just politics; others think he may just actually suck on lots of policy.
I think it's pretty likely he gets a second term at this point, lol republicans. What's gonna happen? Will he go all FUUUUUUUUU to the GOP seeing as they have consistently refused to negotiate in good faith on anything? Will he reverse or change course on the things listed in the previous paragraph? Or is what we've seen what we're stuck with until 2016?

It is not that he is a push over as much as it is that he does not care. He is a Bill Clinton democrat. It is much more about the life style, expensive hotels, planes, women (probably) and general egoism than it is about any political belief.

I think Obama will definitely move left on some issues if re-elected. I don't see him moving left on drones or any foreign policy stuff, unfortunately.

pretty much what 13ball said, he will prob go a little left on social issues (immigration reform, one time) but he isn't going anywhere on foreign policy anytime soon.

Not much he can do with a Republican House and Senate. He's a party man, he's not gonna do anything to screw the dems. He will simply try to make the Republicans in Congress look bad, hope to win them back in in 2014, then finish up with his agenda.
But he does suck on a lot of policy, and the "lolpolitics" was how he pandered to the idiots who thought he'd actually be in favor of civil rights more than him doing the opposite when elected.

Obama is an establishment moderate and that won't be changing any time soon

He had opportunities to be more aggressive, especially in the first two years of his term. Like his foreign policy, he's shown no real authentic or genuine propensity to be anything other than a moderate when it comes to domestic issues, wholly believing in most of the status quo conventions and policy prescriptions. Assuming those are his true leanings, I don't see any reason for him to lurch left after the election due to the political climate. He had a clear mandate early, and didn't use his leverage like that. While I'm also bullish about his chances in 2012, it's likely the win won't be nearly as decisive as 2008, and Congress will be far more divided. So both on the "true Obama Ouija board on his inner feng shui" metric, which reads "moderate" to me, and on the political climate, which looks like continued gridlock, I don't see any drastic changes of course on the horizon.
Put far more succinctly:

Re: If Obama Gets Term #2, Will He Grow a Pair?
I am not sure what you mean by "grow a pair". He is a pro war, anti civil liberty candidate that doesn't care to balance the budget. He is the same as Romney and he is the same as Bush was before him. It is pretty sick that so many guys are still referring to any of these candidates as moderate, left or right. The highly popular democrats and republicans are the same and that should be quite obvious by now. The American public has shown that this is what they actually believe in. Fortunately that attitude is gradually changing with fewer people identifying as either a Democrat or Republican over time. And since that won't be changing nearly in time this election is a waste of time to even focus on.

Re: If Obama Gets Term #2, Will He Grow a Pair?
i am curious what will happen if he wins. bc right now it seems house/senate GOP has essentially defended their obstruction etc under some guise of having a mandate themselves--ppl hate obamacare etc. so if he is reelected, the GOP (would seem to me) would not be able to rely upon that construction like they have.
like if obama wins, is gop still going to go "yea nobody wants u in the white house, we have the mandate." i mean it seems crazy, but i guess that's what will still happen? the GOP will still say that "the american people disagree with the policies of barack obama"
