At least Felix dropped by to keep Nick company in the bottom 10%.

Also im not remotely shocked that everyone just assumes they are slightly above average and chose 6

It's pretty awesome that while presenting linguistic gaffes as indicative of a monstrous lack of intelligence you managed to throw this up there.

Mark Levin's Legal Analysis

Perhaps you'll share your academic credentials with the rest of us...

Levin gives his audience the best play-by-play description of the Obama's legal fight with the State of Arizona and the court fights against the health care bill. And he very eloquently describes why Obama will lose these fights.

Mark Levin Cliff Notes on the Obama's fight against health care:
*The Obama administration claims fines for not having health care are really a tax.
*The Obama administration also claimed these fines were a fine when it was to their advantage in court.
*For Obama to win these court fights, they will need a court to agree these fines are really taxes. AND...when the law opposes them they'll need to claim these fines are really...fines.
*The Obama admin has boxed themselves in legally. To win they'll need a friendly judge that allows them to claim tax status AND fine status when appropriate.

Now grabbed your popcorn and see how the Obama administration tries to get out of this legal trap. The legal eagles of Pharaoh Obama's court are not very saavy... But in their defense, you can't makes bricks without straw and their case is very weak...

Re: How smart are you?

I think it's really hard to tab an IQ number on a poster based on the content of their posts. Long, well-constructed posts are nice but not all intelligent 2+2ers are going to want to put in the effort to make good posts. However bad posts can be used to downgrade posters to some accuracy.

Nothing in the original post specified IQ.

Re: How smart are you?

It's amazing how many people who rank themselves top 10% intelligence in gen. pop. can't read/comprehend a pretty straightforward OP. More than likely they just raced to the poll to hurry up and rank themselves top/top.

Cool story, bro. In order to rank posters, we need a metric. "Intelligence" is incredibly broad and vague. When you lack a well-defined metric, you choose one yourself.

So your points are:
*superior typing skills are a sign of intelligence.
*inferior typing skills are a sign of poor intelligence?

I think it is petty of anyone to criticize others for typos in a forum like 2+2.
If we were writing for publication, then we would all do the spellchecks and have editors to read our work to make sure such errors never see the light of day...
But we in these forums are not professonal typists so I cut people slack when they make typos or minor grammatical mistakes. But if nitpicking peoples typos makes you feel good then do so.

However I do know how to pronounce "corpsman" so that makes me more intelligent than Obama...
I do know there are 50 states, so that puts me ahead of Obama as well.

Now if you have an actual argument to present then I will gladly listen to it.
And if you make a typo, I won't be mention itp. Why? Because I value people's arguments more than their typing skills...

And in terms of this poll, which is concerned with regular politics posters, the ability to make coherent, well-reasoned posts seems like a better metric than IQ, precisely because we do have the evidence for it.

EDIT: I would suggest the "how many words are you capable of pronouncing correctly" metric, but unfortunately I haven't heard any of you talk.

Re: How smart are you?

Felix,

You arent smarter than Obama. I doubt you are smarter than the majority of this thread. No one cares he mispronounced corpsman and he obviously knows there are 50 states. Trying to claim that Obama doesnt know there are 50 states is just retarded. I dont care that he said 57 once, he knew there were 50.

Though it is hilarious in one post you dismiss bringing up your typos as petty but him mispeaking after few hours sleep on a long election trail is fair game and accurate evidence of whether this Harvard educated lawyer who edited and was president of Harvard Law Review knows how many states there are in America.

OK but you still need a way to turn that into a metric that can be used to rank posters. GL. And as I pointed out, this isn't always reliable. Say Stephen Hawking posts on here but all his posts are tangential one-liners. He gets ranked in the bottom half of the forum despite being undoubtedly in the top 10%. On the other hand, someone with an average intelligence who is a good writer who spends 3 hours on every post he makes will be overrated and placed in the top 10%.

Effort counts imo, for the purpose of the poll. How smart are you in the politics forum? Me: mediocre. If I actually tried, much better although still outside the top 10%.

Also it takes Hawking a long time to compose a sentence give the man a break.

Sure, I don't think you're going to get very exact rankings. As I mentioned earlier

But, this is also presumably true of other measures like IQ tests, if you aren't taking that many.

And doesnt the pole not make sense? 9 should be the highest if you go up by 10% every step?
