Any cop that acts against black men (or anyone else) with bad intent should be sent to jail.

Its too early in this thread to say, but in the others I've seen every cop that got off did not act with bad intent, and the jury or state officials got it right. This should be something to be happy about, that our system is working properly.

Its important to remember that hundreds of people get shot by the police each year. Only a few cases get a thread in 2+2, cases selected by posters who want to paint all cop shootings as being against innocent people.

The funny thing is, even though these publicized cases are picked to represent the worst in policing, once you get into the details even these cases show the so-called victim was a huge contributor to the event ending in a shooting.

Think of all the non-publicized cases, they must be slam-dunk "police acted properly" cases to have avoided huge publicity and their own 2+2 thread.

We should be for improving police practices but not in a way that worsens the safety of the public and gives criminals free reign to act against us.
I was clearly speaking about a single officer when there is a doubt. And you ignore the very large problem of perception: We have a significant portion of society that doesn't trust, in fact fears, the police and I'm trying to find a way to reduce part of what is causing that.

The motives tend to be abject cowardice rather than bad intent.

How many justified killings does a police department have to have to get a pass on killing an unarmed and/or innocent person? What is the accepted ratio?

I agree, although this is little solace to the families of the dead, unarmed black men killed by police.

BTW, when did police officers became pussies who are afraid of their own shadows and any man with black skin?

Real instigator that Anthony Hill was. No wonder the cop was afraid.

I probably won't hang with people who feel the need to to say "**** 12" every time we pass a cop in 2014. Case by case...

People act like only white people are racist. That's a real issue in black America.

Seriously, dude would've given every Fox News watcher a boner the size of Dick Cheney's pacemaker and now he's going to get labeled as a crazy black thug.

Very unfortunate though they have impulse to draw the 9 9/10 times. Only will you see this type of impulse in Merica though..****'s not prevalent elsewhere.

It still pisses me off that Mike Brown's killer was never asked why he didn't use the taser outside the car. He should still be alive today even if DW was 100% telling the truth.

I wonder the same thing. Same thing can be said for the cigarette guy. All cops had to do was back up and tase him if they couldn't talk him down. It's absolutely mind boggling that that man ended up choked to death.

Taser's are ineffective against demons.

Even reading that in it's most charitable light, as a riff that black men are considered demons by the cops therefor cops bad, it's still not appropriate, imo.

Re: Here we go again... (unarmed black teen shot by cop)

That's straight out of Darren Wilson's mouth.

Quote:
"And when I grabbed him, the only way I can describe it is I felt like a five-year-old holding onto Hulk Hogan," Wilson said of his struggle with Brown. "That's just how big he felt and how small I felt just from grasping his arm." Wilson told grand jurors that when he and Brown struggled over the officer's gun, Brown "had the most intense aggressive face. The only way I can describe it, it looks like a demon, that’s how angry he looked."

It's not 100% clear in the video but this guy appears to move towards one of the police officers (who was maybe 3 feet away) when he was asked to drop the screwdriver.

wft is your point? it will be ruled a clean shooting (undoubtedly). doesn't mean it had to happen. these pussies easily could'a tased that kid.

unfortunately, these animals aren't prepared to take ANY risk. so they kill at the first sign of threat. like the little ****ing bitches they are.

Re: Here we go again... (unarmed black teen shot by cop)

Are cops banned from using less lethal weapons? Seriously. Its crazy how many shootings involve two cops, a guy with either no weapon or a pretty crappy weapon and they shoot him dead asap.

UK cops would have taken him down no problem with a can of mace and a baton. Several forces don't even allow tasers because they are too deadly.

Nice strawman! A screwdriver in the neck is still quite dangerous.

Basically everything is deadly if used correctly. If your cops can't stop someone with a basic tool without shooting him dead they are inadequately trained.

Re: Here we go again... (unarmed black teen shot by cop)

Preliminary info but another unarmed black guy got killed in Atlanta.

Quote:
Another day, another young black man riddled with police bullets. Seven officers shot at a Nicolas Thomas as he was fleeing in his car. Allegedly running from a warrant for parking tickets. The Officers apparently shot from the side and into the vehicle as determined by the side window's glass being shattered - and not the windshield; evidence that, despite police claims of fear for their lives, that they were not in the immediate path of the vehicle.
