I've seen Penn & Teller's Vegas show. It was pretty bad.

Yeah, but it's not nearly as easy as getting normal guns.

Totally negligible difference. It's really only 4 times as many murders in the us.

^^^^^nancy boy itt^^^^^

You say 4x as many like its NOT 5 per million.

The liberties you give up for the slightly lower likelihood of being murdered astound me.

You forgot the arrows.

And failed to address the issue.

Well, it isn't. Hint: a million has 6 zeros not 5.

I am not afraid of being murdered. But I am sure homocide isn't the only crime which is comitted more often when guns are easily available.

But the problem is the criminals have guns. I wouldn't suggest your nation get all gun crazy. But in America, the guns are already here.

What's the difference between these two guns? Nothing! They are both Ruger Mini-14s, just in different configurations. (Well, there is one major difference, magazine capacity. But you can also get the top model with a 20 round magazine, just like the bottom one.)
Magazine capacity is a pretty ****ing big difference.

Re: The gun control debate

Guns are bad because they kill people really efficiently and do nothing else of value.

Commence LOLing.

I'm sure you'll be loling real hard if you're ever in a situation where someone has broken into your house and wants to kill you and you don't have a gun at hand ...

Statistically unlikely.

I would still be possible to outlaw private possession of guns, enforced with severe penalties if people don't comply. Wouldnt be the first country which got rid of wide spread gun ownership.

I understand though, that the right to own guns is so deeply rooted in the american culture that this isn't likely to happen. The tommies just might come back or the government might turn against you, right?

Fwiw I moved to the us from germany despite this particular issue. My no longer existing liberties of driving fast, drinking in public and buying cold beer at the gas station were far bigger concerns. The last two might be connected to guns so, when I really think about it.
