You first. Your post implies you have knowledge of US culture as well as UK culture.

Re: The gun control debate

I explain it by the fact that UK has very tight gun control.

Re: The gun control debate

I get that the UK is a fascist totalitarian nanny state filled with a large amount of nancy boys who run and hide when the door comes flying in.

I also get the UK has a disproportionate amount of Stabbings than the US.

The murder rates differ a few per million.

Quite a cost for living in an outright totalitarian regime.

This country was built on the basic principles of cheating taxes, smuggling **** and telling the King of England where the closest grease fire was.

I'd like to return to those principles.

To be serious for a moment, you SINCERELY believe the ONLY difference in US vs UK culture is access to guns?

Really??

Re: The gun control debate

I owned a gun for about a year. Don't see what the big fascination is.

I don't really like guns but I fully acknowledge that the 2nd amendment is there (until we repeal it!)

Re: The gun control debate

Meh, theyre not for everyone.

If you don't like guns fine. That's the thing. I'm not trying to push guns on anybody.

If the whole country wanted to toss their guns into a big fire and built a big metal rainbow that spanned the country, I'm fine with that, so long as I'm not forced to participate.

Point of order: that's not quite true. You can legally own and use machine guns and suppressors (YMMV with location).

Yeah, the guns are already here; the genie is out of the bottle. I'm not sure if I'd un-invent the gun if I could but trying to take them away from people would result in a lot of cold, dead hands.
