1) It's primarily Republican ideas.
2) It's worked in Massachusetts.
3) There's already a system in place to cover the uninsured and it's more costly and inefficient.
4) If it doesn't work after implemented, we can repeal or revise it.

In all seriousness, what am I missing?
Black president.

I just mean from average joe Republican voter. This law was passed. You don't get everything you want in a democracy, that's the point of democracy. Give the bill an honest try, and if it doesn't work, everyone will be on board from both sides of the isle to repeal or revise it.

Why does all the propaganda and fear tactics even work when you can remove it? I can't get my mind around it beyond the fact that progressives can't make good arguments, and Republicans/corporations are great at generating fear.

I just got an email about a number of job offers Planned Parenthood has for ACA outreach organizers. That's going to make someone really mad.

Conspiracy time: The republicans knew it was going to suck when they drafted it, because they were scared to death to go with the single payer plan. Now that it's not their baby, they're free to talk about how ****ty they already knew it was going to be.

Does it suck in Massachusetts?

What republicans know is that the second you make sure everyone has health coverage, you can't put that genie back in the bottle - no matter how bad certain parts of the ACA may be. The only logical next step is single payer. They last time they stamped their feet about medicare and SS they lost congress for 40 years.

Hey man, it might be more efficient and cover more people for less money but it doesn't feel right. Total fail!
09-27-2013 , 06:31 PM
Medicare is the best insurance provider at controlling costs, and it's not close. It's the most efficient, and it's the most cost effective. I'm sorry that doesn't fit your axioms.
09-27-2013 , 06:34 PM
Again, lol.

If I have time I might respond in full later tonight.

Somehow I doubt he'll ever find the time.

I bet he does eventually. But his response will have nothing to do with reality.

I'm on Medicare. I'm disabled and have it while going to college full time. Ill have it until I get a job and have my own health insurance. Lol at thinking it's bad. Then again, I'm part of the 47% mooching and freeloading off the government teet. Thanks Obama!

The young and disabled can qualify for Medicare proper? I thought it was only old people.

It took a long time for me to qualify. Something like 9 months? It wasn't something like filling out a questionnaire and getting benefits the next day. Had to get lawyer and went to at least 3-4 doctors to verify my disability. I'm deaf, it takes 2 minutes to read an audiogram and it still took close to a year.

Try telling that to anyone over 65.

How would you like to have to decide whether or not to sell your house so your Mom can live?

Wealthiest country on earth treating their old people with dignity = total fail. GTFO
