No, nothing that I said dispels government in any way.

My bad I took that too far, do we have any other ideals today that transcend government? Maybe are you pointing out that Internet rights don't transcend government? Its ok if you're tired of this.

Re: Global human rights?

What if, as is the case in many parts of the world, the supply of clean water is limited?

I believe there are four rights that would be pillars of a peaceful world, or at least the beginning of a movement towards a peaceful or decent world.

1) Access to water
2) Access to food.
3) Access to Shelter (place to use the washroom).
4) Access to an uncensored Internet.

I would like to add the word 'free' to each, but people then think destroying economy makes it even more impossible. So we can either suggest it has to be free, or that at least you can't make it unattainable as a result of poverty etc.
Well, the "free" is really the issue here. Otherwise all you're saying is "I wish everyone could afford these things". I'm quite certain nobody lives anywhere that has no access to food, water or shelter

Free internet doesn't work too well in spots without electricity imo.

^^^ Do these two quotes contradict?

No it wouldn't, nor would it be worth much in an area without water or food.

Maybe 'right' isn't the correct word, but i feel if we hold these as ideals for everyone then the world can have a chance to change.

When people say what about this or that?...are they suggesting these things aren't important to 'declare'? Maybe there are more important 'right's. Maybe there's a certain group that deserves more?

Re: Global human rights?

If you take out the internet part, pretty much everyone has "access" to food, water and shelter. (being able to purchase it is a different story)

Even north korea provides these things, of course they are provided at a barely liveable level, but what the hell.... you are only advocating "access"

Another thing you fail to take into account is who is going to decide how the food will be distributed.... does a family of 8 get the same ration as a family of 3? How will this distribution be enforced? Look at what happens when the UN does a food drop in some African countries.... the prevailing warlord will swoop in and grab all the food.... whose lives do you suggest should be risked to keep the warlords from hoarding the food?

Chavez in Venuzuela had 80,000 TONS of food rot in a warehouse.
http://winteryknight.wordpress.com/2...-in-venezuela/

Now with examples of NK and Venuzuela being unable to efficiently handle relatively small countries, what do you suppose would happen on a global level?

I think these issues arise from a world that thinks nationally etc.

Regardless of borders, some people have lots of guns and power, some don't. There is a finite amount of food on any given day, whose lives do you propose to risk to get to your goal so dictators and warlords do not hoard food?

I am growing some things in my back yard, so technically I am the warlord of my garden. Do you think I should be dividing up my meager harvest amongst the rest of my neighborhood?

what year did the amount of required food exceed what we had? Is there a documentary about that I can watch?

nonetheless ill assert these problems came from having a divided world , people who believe their group can be free even if the other group isn't.

You are suggesting world hunger causes war and division, I am suggesting its the other way around, or at the very least both ways are correct

Re: Global human rights?

This thread is now linked to this Fabric as part of a bigger discussion.

Cliffs for this thread: OP suggests part of an overall plan to change the world is 4 global human rights: to water, food, shelter, and uncensored Internet. Many disagree with the concept of human right, and especially the Internet right. Some suggest not enough resources to go around (food) is the issue and its unsolvable.
