Stating that is quite silly in regards to what Dids said, as it is supposed to imply the US locks up a whole bunch of people who don't deserve it.
Did you ever think maybe the US has more actual criminals? If a country actually had more crime, wouldn't that explain a greater incareration rate?
Or perhaps more likely, a more effective law enforcement and justice system, such that a greater % of criminals are caught and convicted? I suspect crime rates are pretty comparable in both countries, but the US has a better police force that actually finds and arrests and convicts more criminals.
People rarely get locked up political reasons over here, the vast majority of them are drug related, which is of course retarded, but still way more legit than throwing someone in jail for speaking bad about dear leader.
